Following the unveiling of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, gamers have been unearthing numerous Easter eggs scattered throughout the game, which pay homage to popular games and series from that time period. In fact, one player shared their discovery on Reddit after spotting a somewhat critical nod towards the Guitar Hero franchise within the game. As reported by IGN, this reference is subtly embedded in the Waterpark stage, where a box resembling a Guitar Hero game can be found in a trash bin.
Some viewers in the comments section have deemed this reference to Guitar Hero, a spin-off from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater developers Neversoft, as disrespectful or inappropriate. Others find it amusing. Iron Galaxy Studios, however, has acknowledged these concerns on Reddit and expressed their apologies for including the Guitar Hero reference in the game. In their post, they mentioned that they hold high regard for all game creators and will be eliminating this asset in the upcoming update while also looking into how it came to be included initially.
Iron Galaxy expressed high regard for game creators and is currently looking into how an unintended element ended up there. The team thanks the community for pointing it out, and they will eliminate that aspect from the environment art in the upcoming update.
The popular skateboarding games Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 were made available on multiple platforms – PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and even the yet-to-be-released Switch 2 over the weekend. However, at present, Iron Galaxy has not specified when they will roll out an update to eliminate the Guitar Hero reference within the game.
A few days following the launch of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Iron Galaxy unveiled a new trailer showcasing the overwhelmingly positive response from critics. This remake is a total overhaul of the original arcade-style skateboarding games, built from scratch. Prior to its release, Iron Galaxy shared details about some of the game’s accessibility features in a comprehensive post. These features span from a thorough tutorial teaching various gameplay aspects, to finer adjustments such as controlling the game speed.
Iron Galaxy pointed out that the gameplay speed setting offers an exciting twist – it can increase the game’s difficulty level. For those seeking a challenging experience, this feature allows you to play at three times the normal speed, making it tougher for players to execute all their tricky combos since they have less time to react.
It’s important to mention that while updating the original titles, the remade versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 do not include the open-world maps from the fourth game in the series. Instead, they have transformed these stages into a more traditional style of play, where players have two minutes to complete different objectives across multiple levels within the game.
