Planning a weekend binge-watch on Prime Video from January 23rd to 25th, 2026? Ebaster has picked out three highly-rated, popular shows you can easily finish by Sunday.
Even with popular new shows like Fallout and The Night Manager doing well, three fantastic series deserve your attention. They might not be getting as much buzz right now, but these hidden gems – a suspenseful thriller, an action-packed spy story, and a great Western – are all available on Prime Video and are definitely worth watching.
The Better Sister
Don’t miss The Better Sister, a captivating 8-part psychological drama now available on Prime Video. Released in 2025, the series features outstanding performances from Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks, and quickly became one of Prime Video’s most popular new shows last year.
Adapted from an Alafair Burke novel, The Better Sister centers around Chloe, whose husband is murdered. When her nephew, Ethan, becomes the main suspect, she reconnects with her sister, Nicky. If you’re looking for a suspenseful and gripping murder mystery on Prime Video, The Better Sister is a great choice.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Prime Video’s 2024 version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith isn’t a direct remake of the popular 2005 film with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; it’s a fresh take on the original concept. This 8-episode series, co-created by and starring Donald Glover, is a standout action comedy and one of the best shows available on Prime Video, with plans to start filming a second season later this year.
The new Prime Video series, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, updates the classic story of two spies who are secretly assigned to marry each other as part of their dangerous jobs. Known as John (Donald Glover) and Jane Smith (Maya Erskine), they complete missions – including assassinations – while pretending to be a normal married couple. Featuring a talented cast, Mr. & Mrs. Smith is a show you won’t want to miss.
The English
I’ve been completely hooked on The English since it quietly dropped on Prime Video in 2022 – it’s seriously one of the best miniseries they’ve got! Emily Blunt is incredible as Cornelia Locke, an English woman determined to get revenge for her son’s death out in 1890s America. What I really love is how it blends the Western setting with a thrilling, action-packed story – it’s just so easy to get lost in and binge-watch!
With just six episodes, The English is perfect for a weekend watch. Even though it came out over three years ago, it remains one of Emily Blunt’s strongest performances – and that’s high praise given her work in films like Oppenheimer and The Smashing Machine. If you’re looking for a captivating, short series that will keep you hooked, The English on Prime Video is an excellent choice.
