Winter 2026 anime season is wrapping up this week, bringing several popular shows to a close. It’s been a strong season overall, with a variety of stories really shining. We mostly saw returning favorites with new seasons, though a few new anime also debuted.
Lots of anime series have been building to their endings, and several will wrap up this week. Here are five finales you definitely won’t want to miss!
5) Oshi no Ko Season 3

This season, the anime Oshi no Ko will finish its run on Wednesday, March 25th. However, this isn’t the end of the story – it actually marks the start of its most important part! The finale will begin the ’15-Year Lie’ arc, which will lead directly to the series’ conclusion.
Not only is the ending of Oshi no Ko Season 3 particularly impactful, but it also wraps up with a full hour-long episode. This makes it one of the most satisfying season finales this year, and a must-watch this week.
4) Sentenced to Be a Hero

With a new season launching this Winter, Sentenced to Be a Hero quickly became one of the best anime of the year. The first episode was particularly strong, setting up a captivating story that has continued to impress viewers and establish the show as a standout new series.
The show’s finale this Thursday is a must-see, thanks to its beautiful animation and engaging characters. However, it’s the story itself that truly shines. It starts with a classic hero’s journey, but quickly evolves to explore complex themes, even mirroring current events. The final episode promises to conclude the main storyline while adding depth to the hero’s growth and development.
3) Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3

I’m a little sad to say that this Thursday marks the end of what’s been, hands down, the most talked-about anime of the season – Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3! It’s really shown just how unique and gripping the darker side of shonen anime can be. And honestly, kicking off the Culling Game arc? It might just be one of the most thrilling battle tournaments I’ve seen in anime for a long time!
This season of Jujutsu Kaisen has mainly followed Megumi and Yuji during the Culling Game, and introduced a lot of interesting new characters. The finale will change focus to Yuta, who will be caught in a fierce four-way fight. With so much action already in every episode this season, and the animation quality consistently high, the finale promises to be one of the most exciting episodes of the series yet.
2) Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2

This season also features the return of the beloved series, Frieren. Even though it’s a shorter show, Frieren continues to impress, thanks to the high-quality animation by Madhouse and its deliberate, thoughtful pacing – a style you don’t often see. The story follows the group’s travels towards Aureole, and viewers recently saw them reach the Northern Plateau.
Wow, even just this part of the journey has shown us how dangerous things are getting! I’m really excited for the season finale because I think it’s going to ramp up the tension even more. It might wrap up some immediate storylines, but I have a feeling it’s also going to plant the seeds for something much bigger next season, hinting at a major story arc that’s been building all along. Seriously, you need to watch the finale if you want to understand where Frieren is headed after such a thoughtful and peaceful season.
1) Hell’s Paradise Season 2

This week marks the end of Hell’s Paradise Season 2, with the final episode airing on Sunday, March 29th. Aside from Jujutsu Kaisen, it’s easily the most action-packed anime of the season. In fact, many viewers feel this season of Hell’s Paradise has been even more intense than Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, thanks to its gripping, high-stakes story.
This season of Hell’s Paradise has shown the convicts working together to defeat the Tensen. As the main storylines wrap up, the finale will likely continue to follow the convicts as they strive to achieve their objective. However, other powerful players are also becoming involved, especially Shugen Asaemon, the deadliest of the executioners, who was teased to appear in the last episode. The entire season has been leading to this climactic moment, making the finale a strong candidate for the best anime conclusion this week.
