Top 7 2026 Anime We Can’t Wait To Return in 2026, Ranked

As we approach the middle of 2026, the anime scene has already delivered some exciting new shows like Daemons of the Shadow Realm and Witch Hat Atelier. Popular returning series such as One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen have also kept fans engaged with plenty of action and surprises. With several months still to go in the year, even more highly anticipated anime – both new and returning – are on the way. Here’s our ranking of the top seven series we’re most excited to watch.

7.) Ronin Warriors Part 2

Release: July 2026

The newest Samurai Troopers series, also known as Ronin Warriors 2026, has quickly become a standout thanks to its surprising and inventive start. This anime doesn’t shy away from action, delivering plenty of intense moments, but it’s the unexpected twists in the storyline that really grab your attention. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the original Ronin Warriors, this sequel is well worth watching. Sunrise has crafted a fresh take on the series that’s incredibly engaging, and we’re eager to see where the story goes next. Based on the first episodes, expect plenty of surprises!

6.) Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation Season 3

Release: July 6th, 2026

In the world of isekai anime, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation has become hugely popular. Although its story of Rudeus isn’t entirely new, it’s captured fans’ attention with its well-developed characters and engaging plot. As the series progresses and Rudeus grows up, the challenges he faces become increasingly intense, and we anticipate that trend will continue when the anime returns next month.

5.) Ghost in The Shell

Release: July 7th, 2026

With numerous anime versions of Ghost in the Shell already made, the upcoming series next month could be one of the best yet. Created by Science SARU, the studio behind Dandadan, this remake isn’t just visually vibrant; it’s also the most faithful adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s original manga. Shirow’s manga was known for its bright colors and humor, and Science SARU appears to be capturing that same energy. Even with strong competition from past adaptations, early previews suggest this new Ghost in the Shell will be something truly special for anime fans.

4.) Dragon Ball Super: Beerus

Release: Fall 2026

While some fans were surprised to see a new Dragon Ball movie after thirteen years, the trailers for Dragon Ball Super: Beerus have been incredibly impressive. Toei Animation has been consistently improving its work, as seen in the high-quality animation of One Piece. This new movie isn’t the full Dragon Ball Z remake many have wanted, but it could be a key step towards making that happen. Given the animation challenges in the early episodes of Dragon Ball Super, Beerus might be exactly what fans needed to improve the overall quality.

3.) Apothecary Diaries Season 3

Release: October 2026

The anime series Apothecary Diaries quickly became a global hit after its debut in 2023. The upcoming season will likely follow Maomao as she ventures beyond the palace and encounters new challenges in the Western Capital. The show aims to keep viewers engaged with fresh mysteries, especially considering the previous season involved thrilling assassination attempts and military campaigns. Thankfully, the first two seasons established a strong narrative that, if the third season stays true to the original story, should continue to appeal to its dedicated fanbase.

2.) Black Clover Second Season

Release: October 2026

I’ve noticed Studio Pierrot has been shifting away from consistently releasing new episodes every week. After finishing Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, the future of Naruto seems uncertain, and even Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has significant gaps between seasons. But good news for Black Clover fans – Asta will be back this October, not long after the manga finished in Weekly Shonen Jump. We’re excited to see Asta return, though another series has really captured our attention.

1.) Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity

After a long wait, the Thousand-Year Blood War arc is concluding the Bleach anime series, finally giving fans the ending they’ve wanted since the manga finished in 2016. With Yhwach possessing the Soul King’s power and the Soul Society facing a desperate situation, this final arc, “The Calamity,” promises an incredibly high-stakes climax. While this might be the last we see of Bleach for a while, the manga suggests it will conclude with an explosive finale.
