Top-Notch Metroidvania F.I.S.T. Gets a PS5 Prequel in Zoopunk

TiGames is creating a prequel to their popular 2021 game, F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch, called Zoopunk. The new game takes place decades before the original and is confirmed to be coming to PS5. You can watch the first trailer above.

Zoopunk delves into the history of Torch City, the world of F.I.S.T. The game takes you back to the beginning of the First Torch War, a time when a new energy source called ‘fire seed’ led to both incredible advancements and devastating battles.

TiGames’ story unfolds with runaway energy bringing discarded machinery to life as intelligent, relentless war machines. Originally built to control power, these machines learn violence from their builders and begin attacking animals, ultimately creating a mechanical empire determined to take over. Now, with the city thrown into turmoil, animals who were once enemies must join forces to fight back against this powerful new threat.

Rayton the Rabbit is back in a new prequel game, and this time he’s joined by two other playable characters: Braton the Rhino and Trixie the Chipmunk. Braton fights with a flaming sword, while Trixie uses fast-paced parkour skills.

There’s no release date attached to the game yet, but more details are coming in the “near future”.

F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch remains a fantastic game to play on both PS5 and PS4. We gave it an 8 out of 10 in our review, praising its beautiful world, tough but rewarding combat, exciting platforming, and overall quality as one of the best games of 2021. Despite the small size of the main character, Rayton Rabbit, this game packs a powerful punch!
