Tubi is committed to providing free entertainment through its ad-supported streaming service. It already has a large collection of movies for film lovers, and soon, Tubi will feature three universally acclaimed classics, giving viewers a chance to watch some of the greatest films ever made.
Tubi has announced that three Best Picture Oscar winners—The Godfather (1972), Titanic (1997), and Gladiator (2000)—will be available to stream on their platform starting November 1st. These films are widely considered classics and have been hugely influential in the history of cinema.
James Cameron’s Titanic made Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet household names. The film is a visually stunning historical drama, accurately portraying the story of the Titanic’s ill-fated maiden voyage. Titanic is famous for receiving a record-breaking 14 Academy Award nominations and shares the record for most wins with 11 Oscars.
Ridley Scott’s film Gladiator is a prime example of his skill in creating grand, historical dramas. It earned Russell Crowe an Academy Award for his leading performance. The film tells a simple yet complex story set in Ancient Rome, and features impressive action scenes. While a follow-up, Gladiator 2, didn’t quite live up to the original, a third film, Gladiator 3, is currently being made.
Many consider The Godfather to be one of the greatest films ever made. This initial installment launches the celebrated trilogy, delving into the complexities of family, loyalty, and the pursuit of the American Dream through the story of the Corleone crime family. The film centers on Michael (Al Pacino) unexpectedly becoming the head of the family. While incredibly influential, it’s often considered just slightly less impressive than The Godfather Part II.
As a movie buff, I’m really excited about what Tubi is adding next month! They’re going to have three truly classic films available to stream for free, which is awesome. Now, Tubi does have ads, and with movies as long as these – even the shortest, Gladiator, is over two and a half hours – you’ll see a few. But honestly, with so many streaming services costing money these days, it’s a trade-off I’m willing to make for free access to such great films.
Films like The Godfather, Titanic, and Gladiator are widely considered essential viewing, thanks to their huge impact on movies and popular culture. These films are known for their stunning visuals and incredible acting, and now, more people will have access to them through Tubi TV.
