Over the weekend and the beginning of November, many new movies and TV shows became available on major streaming platforms, including Paramount+. The service added a large selection of films on November 1st, featuring two highly-rated sci-fi action movies starring the same popular actor.
Paramount+ added classic sci-fi films The Terminator and Total Recall to its U.S. selection on November 1st, making an already great collection of sci-fi content even stronger. These movies are considered some of the best sci-fi action films of the past four decades and showcase Arnold Schwarzenegger at his peak. If youâre a fan of either sci-fi or Schwarzenegger, youâll definitely want to check them out this month.
James Cameron’s 1984 film, The Terminator, was a groundbreaking hit that redefined both science fiction and action movies. It launched Arnold Schwarzenegger to superstardom, establishing him as a leading actor in Hollywood. The story centers around a deadly machine (Schwarzenegger) sent back in time with the mission of eliminating the future leader of the human resistance as a child. Linda Hamilton co-stars as Sarah Connor, the film’s heroine.
A year before reprising his role in Terminator 2, Arnold Schwarzenegger worked with director Paul Verhoeven on Total Recall. While it hasnât reached the same legendary status as The Terminator, Total Recall is still a fantastic film and deserves recognition for its own merits.
In Total Recall, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Quaid, a man who discovers he has implanted memories of life on Mars. The story follows him as he unexpectedly finds himself on the planet, leaving the audience to question what is actually happening and what is a fabricated dream.
What Else Is New on Paramount+?
Paramount+ added a lot of great content this month, including two new sci-fi movies. This weekend’s additions included classics like the Indiana Jones films directed by Steven Spielberg, Chinatown, all three Godfather movies, and the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy.
