Right now, two games on Steam are completely free. However, one of them will go back to its regular price tomorrow, May 29th. The other free game will remain free until June 3rd. If you’re a Steam Deck owner and want to grab these games, you can, but keep in mind neither is officially supported. One runs well (listed as ‘Playable’), while the compatibility of the other hasn’t been tested (‘Unknown’).
This week, Steam is giving away two free games. First up is Drift86, a well-received arcade racer from 2019. It boasts a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with 90% of its 1,722 user reviews being positive. The other free game is Bunny Guys, a 2023 parkour title. While it has fewer reviews, it still holds a “Positive” rating on Steam with an 83% approval rate.
Drift86
I’m really into this game called Drift86! It’s a super simple, arcade-style racer where you just focus on driving and drifting. You can play by yourself or with friends, and there are tons of cars – 40 different ones! – and tracks – 30 maps in total. It’s all about getting the highest score, which is a lot of fun.
I’ve been playing this game, and honestly, it’s so easy to pick up and play – perfect when I just want a quick racing fix. It really brings back memories of older driving games, but without all the stress! The basic gameplay is just really satisfying; if you like the feeling of drifting around corners, you’ll love it. It’s simple, but in a really good way.
Bunny Guys
Bunny Guys is a parkour game where you race to the top of an obstacle course, either by yourself or with up to eight other players online. It sounds simple – the first to reach the top wins – but it’s actually quite challenging!
One player compared the game’s movement – running, jumping, and climbing – to the popular game Only Up! before it was removed from Steam. They also said it’s a fun game to play with friends and recommend trying it out while it’s still free.
If you’d like to try them out, the first game is available on Steam for free until June 3rd, but Bunny Guys is only free to claim until May 29th.
