As a dedicated gamer diving headfirst into the world of Umamusume: Pretty Derby, I’ve been left in awe by its explosive popularity that seems to have swept the globe since its debut as a horse girl gacha game. It’s almost impossible to avoid conversations about this game, as it’s skyrocketing up the Steam rankings and becoming an essential part of mobile gamers’ daily routines.

However, with such widespread acclaim comes the burden on the game servers. Over the past few days, I, like many other players, have encountered connection issues that are hampering my gaming experience. Yet, there’s a glimmer of hope: Cygames, the developers behind this phenomenon, have acknowledged the server problems and assured us they’re tirelessly working on a solution. It appears that connectivity troubles began around the same time as the introduction of Curren Chan and the Legend Race event, along with an update for Umamusume: Pretty Derby. The source of these problems remains unclear, but it is possible that the game’s increasing popularity has put excessive stress on the servers. Regardless of the cause, the game is currently experiencing connectivity issues which lead to longer load times and occasional connection error code 102, forcing players to return to the main menu.

It appears to me that the issue becomes more severe during busy hours, particularly in the evening Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Conversely, my 6 a.m. checks indicate a more stable connection. Fortunately, Cygames is investigating this matter and may soon provide a solution for slow connections.

On X, Cygames provided an update about the connectivity issues with Umamusume via their @umamusume_eng account and in-game messages. Unfortunately, there’s no set schedule for when these problems will be fixed. However, rest assured that Cygames intends to address the issue and get us all back on track with Career Mode, eliminating those pesky loading delays once more.

Players Hope for Compensation with Ongoing Server Connection Errors

If you’re currently encountering sluggishness or even connection problems while playing Umamusume: Pretty Derby, it can undoubtedly be a very frustrating experience. Given this, it’s no surprise that many gamers are eagerly anticipating some form of compensation once the issue gets resolved. Interestingly, Cygames has been quite generous with in-game rewards since the global launch. In light of the problem statement, several players are voicing their requests for a large quantity of Carats as a form of recompense.

Consequently, numerous players (including myself) are finding it challenging to amass sufficient Carats for drawing new Trainees and Support Cards. Given the popularity of supports like Kitasan Black and the powerful new trainee Curren Chan, many gamers are hoping for another wave of free Carats to help them get by.

Currently, Cygames hasn’t given any word on compensation for the connectivity problems in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that something is coming our way as gamers. Maybe it could be extra Carats for another try at Scouting, only time will tell.
