Uncertainty Surrounds Rumoured Venom PS5 Game

Over the past day, there’s been some confusion online about the leaked Venom game from Insomniac Games, with different reports offering conflicting information.

In a recent podcast interview, Nadji Jeter, the voice of Miles Morales in the Marvel’s Spider-Man games, revealed that plans for a dedicated Venom game and a Venom DLC were underway. He suggested these projects were ultimately cancelled following the death of Tony Todd, who voiced Venom. Jeter explained that he was shown detailed plans for how the Venom game would begin and unfold.

Just over an hour later, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier surprised everyone with a simple statement on the ResetEra forum: “This isn’t true.”

As of today, Schreier hasn’t responded, so it’s unclear what he intended to communicate. Is he saying the reports of the game’s cancellation are false, meaning it’s still being made? Or is he suggesting the stated reason for the cancellation isn’t accurate, and there’s another explanation?

News about a potential Venom spin-off game for the PS5 surfaced during the Insomniac hack in December 2023, alongside details of other unannounced games. More recently, in September 2025, a report suggested the game is still being developed, but is currently in the early phases of production.

Currently, Insomniac Games has only officially announced Marvel’s Wolverine, which is scheduled to release on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026.
