After a wait of over two years, Season 2 of the anime Hell’s Paradise, based on the popular manga from Weekly Shonen Jump, is here. Despite being made by the well-known animation studio MAPPA, many fans feel the series doesn’t get enough attention. Recently, Netflix announced that the new season, along with other anticipated anime sequels like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2, will initially only be available in certain parts of Asia. Since Netflix USA already streams previous seasons of these shows, it’s likely they’ll add the new season a few weeks after the initial release, or once all episodes have aired.
I’ve been following the weekly charts for non-English shows, and for a long time, Jujutsu Kaisen and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End consistently held the top spots. Interestingly, the latest data, covering January 26th to February 1st, 2026, now includes Hell’s Paradise this season. According to Netflix Tudum, it landed at number eight with 900,000 views, just below Frieren at number seven with 1.2 million views. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is still doing well, currently in fourth place with 1.6 million views.
Hell’s Paradise Season 2 Brings More Challenges For Gabimaru and His Allies

The series follows Gabimaru, a highly skilled and deadly assassin from Iwagakure. Facing execution, he’s offered a deal: freedom in exchange for completing an incredibly difficult mission – finding the Elixir of Life on a strange, uncharted island. The first season concludes with Gabimaru and his companions gearing up to explore deeper into the island, determined to uncover the secrets of who – or what – lives there.
Season two continues the story, focusing on the lengthy Hōrai arc from the original manga, which spans 51 chapters. As Gabimaru and his fellow prisoners, along with their executioners, search for a legendary elixir on a treacherous island, they encounter increasingly dangerous foes, like the skilled Yamada Asaemon and the Iwagakure Shinobi. Their arrival throws the mission into chaos, putting everyone at risk. Meanwhile, the main villains, led by Lord Tensen, are dealing with their own problems, as Zhu Jin attempts to gain control over the Banko, making the situation even more perilous.
The manga is divided into four story arcs, with the Hōrai arc being the third and the Departure Arc bringing the story to a close. Currently, you can’t watch the newest season on Netflix in the U.S., but new episodes of the anime are released every Sunday on Crunchyroll at 7:15 AM Pacific Time, soon after they air in Japan. The English dubbed version became available starting January 25, 2026, a couple of weeks after the season began.
