Okay, so I’ve been following the Resident Evil news, and it’s wild! After Resident Evil Requiem just dropped last month, rumors are flying that they’re planning a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica – and supposedly it’s coming in 2027! That’s awesome, but it gets even better. Apparently, they’re also working on remakes of Resident Evil 0 and the very first Resident Evil game. But here’s the really surprising part: there’s talk of another remake happening beyond those three! I honestly didn’t expect to see so many remakes announced, and another one on top of all that is just mind-blowing!
According to reliable insider Dusk Golem, who has a proven track record with Resident Evil leaks, Capcom has considered remaking Resident Evil: Revelations. First launched in 2012, Revelations originally appeared on the Nintendo 3DS before being released on other consoles. A sequel, Resident Evil: Revelations 2, followed in 2015.
The Revelations series hasn’t had a new installment since its initial games, as Capcom decided to concentrate on other projects. Interestingly, many of the developers who worked on Revelations are now leading the overall Resident Evil franchise, and that’s why Dusk Golem believes a remake of this game is possible.
This Resident Evil Game Would Make for a Great Remake
Although not the most well-known game in the Resident Evil series, Revelations is a core part of the franchise. It’s also a strong candidate for a remake, as the original was constrained by the limitations of the 3DS handheld. Updating Revelations for today’s consoles and PCs would be fantastic and could significantly improve the experience.
Even if a remake of Resident Evil: Revelations is made, it’s likely a long way off. Capcom is already working on three other remakes, and a new Resident Evil 10 is almost guaranteed to happen given the success of Resident Evil Requiem. So, while a Revelations remake might eventually appear, don’t expect it in the near future.
