Unforgotten legend Nicola Walker stars in first look at all-new “outrageously witty” comedy drama series

Fans haven’t seen Nicola Walker, known for her roles in shows like ‘Unforgotten’ and ‘The Split,’ on television for over a year. Now, she’s starring in a new comedy-drama called ‘Alice and Steve,’ and some initial photos from the series have just been released.

The series also features Jemaine Clement from “What We Do in the Shadows.” It centers around Alice, played by Walker, who is heartbroken when her best friend, Steve (Clement), begins a relationship with her daughter, Izzy (Yali Topol Margalith, known for “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder”).

I’m so hooked on this new series coming to Disney+ this summer! It’s about Alice trying to break things off with Steve, but he’s really not taking it well at all. What started as a sweet friendship quickly turns into a total war between them – I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!

Alice and Steve is a funny, chaotic, and complex story about friendships, families, and relationships. It’s not your typical romantic comedy, and it makes you wonder just how far people will go for love or to get even. Will Alice ever be able to forgive Steve? Can Steve and Izzy build a lasting relationship? One thing’s for sure: their lives are about to change forever.

These photos offer a first glimpse of the actors – Walker, Clement, and Margalith – as their characters in the upcoming London-set series. We also see Joel Fry, known from Doctor Who, playing a character named Daniel.

The cast also includes Tyrese Eaton-Dyce (from Sherwood), Marcia Warren (known for The Crown), Eilidh Fisher (Dope Girls), and Ebony Aboagye (The Conjuring: Last Rites).

Sophie Goodhart, known for her work on Sex Education, created and wrote the series, while Tom Kingsley (of Ghosts) directed it.

When the show was first announced, Walker shared her excitement about joining the world Sophie Goodhart created – a world full of friendship, motherhood, marriage, intense emotions, and both love and revenge. She also expressed how happy she was to be working with Jemaine Clement.

Clement also shared that he connects with Steve’s character, describing him as sophisticated, fashionable, and generally a good person – though not always. He’s looking forward to collaborating with Nicola Walker and exploring the dramatic breakdown of the relationship between Steve and Alice.

You’ll be able to watch Alice and Steve on Disney+ starting in the summer of 2026. You can subscribe to Disney+ today for £5.99 per month or £99.90 for a year.
