If a game hasn’t been officially updated to work with the new upscaler, you can still try to improve its visuals. Go to the PlayStation 5 Pro system settings and turn on the “Enhance PSSR Image Quality” option for games that already use PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. This may make games look clearer and more stable, though the results will differ depending on the game. You can always turn the feature off if you notice any visual problems.

Here’s what some game developers have said about the improved PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution technology, along with examples of how it’s being used.
Electronic Arts
We’re excited to announce that Dragon Age: The Veilguard now works with PlayStation 5 Pro’s new Spectral Super Resolution technology. This upgrade noticeably improves the game’s image quality without sacrificing smooth performance in both Fidelity and Performance modes, making your adventures in Thedas look and feel even better.

Koei Tecmo Games
The latest PlayStation update, called Spectral Super Resolution, makes details in games like Nioh 3 even clearer – especially the edges of things like trees, plants, and flowers. This also allows for fast-action scenes to remain sharp and detailed. We encourage players to experience the improved visuals and immersive gameplay of Nioh 3 with this update.
—Kohei Shibata, Producer of Nioh 3 / Koei Tecmo Games

Konami Digital Entertainment
The recent update featuring PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution makes Silent Hill f even smoother to play. Details like grass and shadows are now clearer, making the game’s foggy 1960s Japan feel even more immersive. Whether you’re a returning player or new to the game, you can now experience the ‘beauty in terror’ with the enhanced PlayStation 5 Pro.

Ninja Theory
As a huge fan of both Ninja Theory and PlayStation, I was thrilled to hear about their collaboration on the PS5 Pro! It’s amazing that they’ve been working together to improve the upscaling tech, specifically PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, for games like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. What’s really cool is that Ninja Theory has been able to enhance the visuals – especially the particle effects – without losing the artistic style they’re known for. They’re always pushing boundaries, and it sounds like this update will make the world of Hellblade II even more immersive. For Ninja Theory, it’s all about creating incredible experiences, and this kind of optimization is key to drawing players deeper into the story and characters.
—Dom Matthews, Studio Head, Ninja Theory
Remedy Entertainment
As a gamer, I’m really excited to see what the PlayStation 5 Pro can do! It’s awesome that all Pro owners will get these upgrades. They’ve really improved the image upscaling with something called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution – it makes games look sharper and more stable. Basically, it’s smarter about how it renders things, so you get a clearer picture without any weird flickering or blur. It reacts quickly to what’s happening on screen, keeping everything smooth, especially in fast-paced games. I’ve already noticed a big difference in how good games like Control and Alan Wake II look on the Pro – the image quality is just so much better and more consistent.
—Tatu Aalto, Graphics Technical Director, Remedy Entertainment
—Alan Wake II

—Control

Square Enix
This new version noticeably improves image quality, especially fine details like hair, making them look more natural. It also creates a smoother, more stable picture with less flickering and ghosting. The result is a more immersive and visually appealing gaming experience.
—Naoki Hamaguchi, Director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth / Square Enix
