Val Chmerkovskiy Reacts to Corey Feldman’s Comments on DWTS Drama

Val Chmerkovskiy is ready to tango into this conversation.

Following Corey Feldman’s claims about a negative atmosphere during his time on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars, one of the show’s professional dancers responded to his comments.

Val responded to a November 22nd Instagram post about Corey with a series of four emojis. These included a monocled face lost in thought, a hand-on-chin thinking emoji, a zipped-mouth face, and a Pinocchio-like lying face with an elongated nose.

Okay, so this dancer, she’s 39 and currently paired with Alix Earle – can you believe it?! But honestly, even people who used to compete against Corey are saying his comments were way off. It’s not just me who thinks so, you guys! Everyone sees it!

Amy Purdy, a finalist on Season 18 of the show, and her professional partner Derek Hough, both stated that they never encountered any negativity or toxic behavior while participating.

Okay, so, yes, I was devastated when Mauricio and Emma got eliminated on Dancing with the Stars – seriously, week six?! It just wasn’t fair! But honestly, even though I’m heartbroken, I just adore that show. It’s amazing, and seeing Mauricio try so hard was everything. I’m still a huge fan, even if my fave is out! I just can’t help but love the whole competition.

“There is nothing toxic on the show,” the 55-year-old wrote. “It’s such a welcoming family.”

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE what Corey said! He was partnered with Jenna Johnson, Val’s wife – seriously, they were SO good together – before they unfairly eliminated him way too early. But anyway, he was talking about what he saw happen on set, and it was fascinating. He described this whole two-part thing going on, like a real pattern he noticed while he was there. It’s making me rethink everything!

He described the off-screen conflicts as incredibly foolish and toxic. Speaking on the Gurvey’s Law Radio Show on November 22nd, according to The Daily Mail, he said that while everything appeared fine on camera, the behind-the-scenes drama was unlike anything he’d ever witnessed.

Despite saying that everyone on set worked well together, he believed the public had a very different impression of the atmosphere.

He went on to say that you’d see stories in the papers about conflicts – ‘this person is angry at that person,’ or people refusing to speak to each other. He specifically mentioned a situation with Corey Feldman, claiming Feldman ruined a show because he was arrogant and hard to collaborate with.

The Goonies actor was particularly surprised by comments from Jenna’s brother-in-law, professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, in The Daily Mail. Chmerkovskiy said working with Corey was challenging.

And when Corey brought those concerns to Jenna, she firmly dismissed her brother-in-law’s comments.

On the radio, he explained that he asked Jen where all the drama was coming from. She just dismissed it, saying it was all Maks trying to get attention, and even rolled her eyes. He said he was completely shocked.

Although the 54-year-old didn’t have the fondest memories, he is returning for the Nov. 25 finale.

He announced his return to ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in an Instagram post on November 23rd, sharing photos from the show and writing, ‘I’m back in the ballroom for one last dance with the stars!’
