Poncle, the creator of Vampire Survivors, just announced Vampire Crawlers during the Xbox Partner Preview. It’s a new game in the Vampire Survivors style, but with a twist – it’s a roguelike dungeon crawler where you build a deck of cards. Expect the same chaotic, screen-filling action and diverse characters, but viewed from a different angle.
Okay, so I just read this interview with the creator of Vampire Survivors, Luca Galante, and it sounds amazing! He’s calling this new game a spin-off, and he’s hoping it’s the first of many! Basically, they’re taking everything that made Vampire Survivors so addictive – being easy to pick up, super replayable, affordable, and, let’s be honest, filled with sparkly effects – and applying those ideas to different kinds of games. Seriously, he said ‘tons of sparkly stuff!’ and I’m already in!
While there aren’t currently plans for a direct sequel to Vampire Survivors, the developers are working on a related project that they aren’t ready to announce yet.
We don’t know when it will come out or what it will be like. Many questions are still unanswered, and will likely stay that way for a while. However, it has the potential to significantly change the series, similar to how Risk of Rain and Enter the Gungeon moved to 3D for their sequels. While it’s still too early to tell how well that worked out for Enter the Gungeon, Risk of Rain has been very successful, particularly with its new Alloyed Collective expansion.
The game Vampire Crawlers is scheduled to launch between early and mid-2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
