Vampire: The Masquerade’s Live Service PS5 Game Bites the Dust

Sorry, but it completely slipped our minds that a battle royale version of Vampire: The Masquerade was released on PS5.

Bloodhunt, the game based on Vampire: The Masquerade, came out on PlayStation in April 2022, but will be removed from the platform in just six months.

It wasn’t shocking to hear the game is shutting down, as the developers, Sharkmob, already announced they would no longer be supporting it last year. Really, the surprising thing is that Bloodhunt was able to stay online for as long as it did.

Bloodhunt will no longer be available after April 26th, 2026, marking four years since it first launched on PlayStation 5.

It’s true that Bloodhunt lasted longer than many similar online games. From what we’ve seen, people generally enjoyed playing it, and a dedicated group of players will definitely be disappointed to hear it’s ending.

The game didn’t receive very positive feedback from critics or players. It appears to have had a difficult time gaining popularity, and the recent decision to end support suggests it didn’t perform well in its first year and a half.

Sharkmob says in a recent announcement that they hope players continue to have fun in Prague and enjoy the remaining time they have together in the game. They encourage everyone to keep playing and make the most of the final months.

We’re so grateful you joined us on this adventure. We hope you cherish the memories you made exploring Prague – we certainly will!

Have you tried out Bloodhunt? Were you surprised it was available for as long as it was? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
