It’s only May, and Anne Hathaway already has three movies out this year! The trailer for her new film, Verity, just dropped, and it looks incredibly suspenseful and complex.
Okay, so I just finished watching this movie, and wow, it really messes with your head! It’s based on a super popular book, and it centers around a writer named Lowen who gets a dream job – ghostwriting the autobiography of bestselling author Verity Crawford. But things get seriously twisted when Lowen discovers Verity’s personal notes, which reveal some really dark secrets about her husband and their life. It’s a total psychological thriller, and I found myself constantly questioning what was real, who was manipulating who, and whether anyone’s feelings were genuine. It’s a captivating ride that blurs the lines between attraction and obsession, and honestly, it kept me guessing until the very end.
The film stars Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, who has recently seen a resurgence in his career. Director Micahel Showalter previously collaborated with Anne Hathaway on the 2024 film, The Idea of You, which was also based on a book.
VERITY IS RELEASED ONLY IN CINEMAS on 2nd OCTOBER 2026
