Victoria Beckham has spoken out after son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham‘s allegations.

Following Brooklyn Beckham’s public claim that his parents were attempting to sabotage his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Victoria Beckham—a former member of the Spice Girls—briefly commented on the 26-year-old’s strained relationship with his family.

As a parent, I truly believe you just do your best, and that’s what my husband and I have always strived for. After being in the public eye for over three decades, our priority has always been, and will always be, protecting and loving our children. Honestly, that’s all there is to it, and what matters most to us.

Earlier this year, Brooklyn stated he has no intention of repairing his relationship with his family. He had previously affirmed, “I do not want to reconcile with my family.”

In a recent Instagram Story posted on January 19th, the founder of Cloud23 explained they were finally asserting themselves after a lifetime of having their family’s public image dictated by their parents. They described growing up with a family where carefully crafted social media posts, appearances at events, and even relationships felt insincere and were used to control how the family was perceived by the press.

According to Brooklyn, what’s posted online shouldn’t be taken at face value. 

I’ve personally witnessed how far some people will go to spread lies through the media, often harming innocent individuals to protect their own image. However, I’m confident that the truth will eventually be revealed.

According to Brooklyn, the issues with his family started leading up to his 2022 wedding to Nicola. He claims David and Victoria tried to pressure him, and even offered him money, to give up his right to use his own name.

He explained they insisted he sign the contract before his wedding, as that would start the agreement’s terms. His initial refusal to sign delayed the payment, and he felt their relationship with him changed for the worse afterward.

Okay, so I’ve been following this whole situation so closely, and apparently Brooklyn claims Victoria just completely blindsided Nicola by backing out of making her wedding dress right before the big day! Can you believe it? And get this – he also said Victoria was dancing all over him, like, really inappropriately, at the reception! It’s just… a lot. I’m honestly shocked, and I need to know everything!

He claims his mother unexpectedly interrupted his first dance with his wife. They had planned for weeks to dance to a love song, but during the reception, Marc Anthony invited him onstage. Instead of getting to dance with his wife as scheduled, his mother was there waiting to dance with him in front of their 500 guests.

Brooklyn stated that Nicola attempted to repair her relationship with his parents over time, but he believes David and Victoria remained distant and unfriendly towards her.

It just kills me to see how my wife is treated by my family! Honestly, no matter what she does, it’s never enough for them. We do it all for them, and it feels like it’s never appreciated. It’s heartbreaking, truly!

These days, Brooklyn said he’s done with playing nice.

He shared that he struggled with severe anxiety for most of his life. However, since becoming independent from his family, he’s experienced a newfound sense of calm. He now wakes up each day feeling thankful for the life he’s built and enjoying a peaceful, relaxed state.

The model explained that he and his wife simply want a peaceful, private life and happiness for their family, without being influenced by media attention or public perception.

While not a strict requirement, many people expected Nicola Peltz Beckham to wear a wedding dress designed by her future mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham, when she married Brooklyn Beckham in April 2022. The wedding took place at Nicola’s family’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

It wasn’t a case of her saying I couldn’t wear it, or me deciding I didn’t want to. It simply became a situation where plans changed, and the media kind of ran with a narrative that wasn’t quite accurate.

Brooklyn said she’s realized people will always attempt to be negative or critical, but thankfully, everyone on the team gets along well.

Speaking to Grazia the following month, Nicola called the Beckhams “great in-laws.”

Victoria, who rarely addresses gossip, finally described the Peltz-Beckham wedding as “beautiful.”

David received a knighthood in November 2025, but Brooklyn and Nicola didn’t say anything publicly about it. They also weren’t at the MLS Cup final in December 2025 when David’s team, Inter Miami CF, won—only Victoria, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper were there to celebrate.

During an event hosted by The Wall Street Journal in West Palm Beach, Florida on February 3, 2026, Nicola’s father, Nelson, responded to questions about recent media attention on his family. He jokingly said, “Have we been in the news? I haven’t even realized it.”

Nelson didn’t want to go into specifics, but he did say his daughter and the Beckhams have a special relationship. He wasn’t going to discuss it further today, but he expressed his happiness for his daughter and her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, and wished them a long and joyful marriage.

Chef Gordon Ramsay, a close friend of David and Victoria Beckham, publicly shared his thoughts on the situation several weeks after their son Brooklyn’s social media post.

In a 2026 interview with The Sun, he advised Brooklyn to remember he has influences from both of his parents. He praised Brooklyn as a wonderful young man, emphasizing that his parents have done more for him than anyone else ever will, including any future father-in-law.

He told Brooklyn he’d exchanged a few messages with the company’s founder.

He really wants to be independent and make his own path, and I admire that about him,” he said. “It’s good to strive for that, but it’s important to remember your roots. Eventually, you’ll lose your parents, and you need to be prepared for that.

Cruz, Brooklyn’s brother, also expressed hope for a reconciliation. When asked by TMZ on Brooklyn’s 27th birthday if he thought they could make amends, he simply said, “I hope so.”
