Vin Diesel’s Sci-Fi Trilogy Returns to Streaming Amid Wait for Part 4

Fans of Vin Diesel’s popular movie series will soon be able to watch all three films on streaming platforms. They’re arriving at the beginning of next month, and this release might finally kickstart progress on a fourth movie that’s been in development for a while.

Vin Diesel first played the character Riddick in the 2000 film Pitch Black, and later returned to the role in two sequels, The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and Riddick (2013). Netflix has announced that all three Riddick movies will be available to stream on its platform starting June 1, 2026.

The Riddick Trilogy Returns to Netflix

Soon after the movie Riddick came out, Vin Diesel said they were planning a fourth film. He intended to work again with director David Twohy, who had directed all three Riddick movies. This new movie, originally titled Riddick: Furya, faced many delays and seemed stuck in development. However, the project recently started moving forward again, with an official announcement in 2023.

We, the fans, have been asking for another Riddick movie for years, and it’s finally happening! I was so excited to hear from Twhoy that Riddick: Furya is in the works. It’s been amazing to see how Vin Diesel and One Race have built this universe over the last 20 years โ€“ three films, video games, an anime series, and even online comics! Now, we’re going back to Riddick’s home world to learn about where he really came from, and I canโ€™t wait to see it all unfold on the big screen.

The State of Riddick: Furya Remains Unclear

As a big fan, I was thrilled when the Riddick trilogy hit Netflix in 2023 โ€“ it definitely brought the franchise back into the spotlight! Vin Diesel even shared how well the movies were doing on the platform and hinted at discussions about a fourth film. Now that they’re back on Netflix this June, I’m hoping we’ll get another update from him soon about the progress of Riddick: Furya. Fingers crossed!

As a longtime fan, I was definitely excited when Vin Diesel posted a photo last August of himself in Riddick gear, sitting in a vehicle out in the desert โ€“ captioned simply “Behind the scenes.” It seemed like filming had started, but we haven’t heard much since, so it’s likely just early stages of development. Honestly, we’re still in the dark about when actual filming will begin, and of course, a release date is still a mystery. Still, the possibility of seeing Riddick return to Netflix is fantastic โ€“ it would be a huge boost for the franchise and get everyone talking about it again.

As a huge fan of the Riddick universe, I’m thrilled to share that all three films โ€“ Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Riddick โ€“ are finally coming to Netflix on June 1, 2026! Get ready for some serious sci-fi action.
