Walking Dead Actress Kelley Mack’s Death Was “Very Unexpected”

The people in Kelley Mack’s life are still reeling from her loss.

After the sad passing of the actress from “The Walking Dead” at the age of 33, on August 2nd, due to diffuse midline glioma (a form of cancer that led to a spinal cord tumor), a representative for Kelley expressed shock, stating she was completely taken aback by her death.

As reported by People, the representative had been considering Kelly (whose real name is Kelley Lynne Klebenow) for various roles until June. Regarding her health, they mentioned that they were unaware of the sudden turn it took and found it quite unexpected.

Kathryn, Kelley’s sister, shared the tragic news about Kelley’s passing on social media, expressing it with profound sorrow.

The radiant and passionate light that was Kelley has moved on to the next realm, a destination we all eventually reach. As per an Aug. 5 post, she passed away peacefully with her loved ones nearby. Remarkably, several of her loved ones have already encountered her in the form of beautiful butterflies. Her absence will be deeply felt and words alone cannot capture the extent of our sorrow.

Kelley disclosed her diagnosis with a seldom-encountered form of astrocytoma cancer, known as diffuse midline glioma, in January. At that time, she described it as an “extremely rare” type of brain tumor. Following several months of persistent symptoms such as lower back pain, itching on her right quad, and shooting pains throughout her legs and back, an MRI conducted in November uncovered a mass in her spinal cord.

She had a biopsy surgery that temporarily affected the use of her right leg and significantly impaired her left, followed by proton-based radiation therapy.

Amidst the hurdles I’ve encountered, I couldn’t help but express my heartfelt gratitude for having my cherished companions near me, with my partner, Logan, among them.

In her January 3 post, she expressed deep gratitude for her loving and supportive family and partner who stood by her throughout this difficult journey. This time has been incredibly emotional and demanding, pushing her to the limits of her mental strength, faith, and physical resilience. Despite the challenges, they remain optimistic and calm, knowing that her recovery is underway and together they will persevere.

Apart from finding solace elsewhere, she also discovered tranquility in her faith. Expressing this, she stated, “This ordeal has drawn me nearer to the divine, and I’m relying on Him, trusting His path for me.

She had a biopsy operation that temporarily disabled her right leg’s function and mostly immobilized her left one. Following this, she received radiation therapy using protons.

Even amidst difficulties, Kelley expressed her heartfelt appreciation for having her dear ones around, among them was her partner, Logan.

In her January 3 post, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude for having a family and boyfriend who stand by her unwaveringly throughout this journey. This time has been incredibly tough, pushing her to the limits of her emotional, mental, and physical resilience. Despite the trials, they remain optimistic, and we find solace in knowing that recovery is underway and we will triumph.

Apart from her acting gigs on TV shows such as “The Walking Dead”, “Chicago Med”, and “9-1-1”, and movies like “Broadcast Signal Intrusion” and “Universal”, Kelley’s family admired her for her exceptional talent, warm heart, and vivacious personality.

Kelley had a reputation for being warm-hearted, innovative, and consistently supportive of those around her. Her obituary stated that she valued spending time with family and friends, finding happiness in working together and sharing stories.
