The “War Thunder: Eastern Naval Battles” event has begun! Until August 6th, participants have the chance to immerse themselves in maritime combat and acquire the formidable Japanese destroyer, the IJN Shisaka.
Why Is It Called “Naples of the East”?
The occasion is named after Kagoshima, a southern Japanese coastal city renowned for its warm weather, proximity to the active Sakurajima volcano, and scenic seaside setting. This city is often referred to as the “Eastern Naples,” reminiscent of the well-known Italian city.
What Is the IJN Shisaka?
The IJN Shisaka is a formidable Japanese frigate from World War II, boasting significant firepower. Constructed in 1944, it went on to serve in the Chinese Navy until 1990. In the game War Thunder, it functions as a powerful coastal vessel.
It features:
- Three 120 mm guns
- Six side mortars
- Two depth charge racks
- Several 25 mm anti-aircraft guns
From my gaming perspective, I’d say this ship might not be the quickest on the water, but boy, it sure can withstand a beating and dish out some serious damage! That makes it an ideal choice for gamers who love tough, robust, and hard-hitting naval units in their strategy games.
How to Join the Event
To begin accumulating rewards, engage in Naval Battles at a rank of III or higher, either in Arcade or Realistic game modes. Additionally, you can advance using some specific event vehicles at ranks I and II as well.
Each event stage costs 35,000 mission points, so play regularly to stay on track.
Event Rewards
The War Thunder Naples of the East event offers multiple rewards as you advance:
- Silver Lions, boosters, and useful trophies
- Kagoshima-themed decals and ship flags
- A special loading screen with IJN Shisaka
- A non-tradable ship coupon for the Shisaka
As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that we’re unveiling new game levels every two days, kicking off from July 25 and wrapping up on August 4. To ensure you don’t miss out on all the juicy rewards, it’s essential to stay consistent and keep playing!
Missed a Stage? Use Golden Eagles
If you find yourself lagging, there’s no need to fret. You can advance through incomplete levels by using Golden Eagles, but remember that the cost will be determined based on your current progress.
- 85% complete = 50% off
- 95% complete = 80% off
This system helps you catch up without losing momentum.
Make the Ship Tradable
Once you complete all 7 levels, you’ll get the IJN Shisaka. At first, it arrives as a non-tradeable voucher. But if you manage to accumulate 600,000 mission points, you can unlock the “Upgrade for Voucher” item, making the voucher tradeable.
Keep in mind, this upgrade disappears if unused by August 10. So be sure to activate it in time.
Don’t Forget Your Rewards
To claim your rewards, please navigate to the Achievements section, specifically the ‘Naples of the East’ menu. Any overlooked items can be bought using Golden Eagles before August 11th.
