We just received the trailer for Wasteman, and it appears to be a gritty prison drama featuring two very talented actors.
Taylor is nearing parole after a long prison sentence, during which his son grew up without him. Unfortunately, a new cellmate named Dee pulls him into dangerous conflicts with other inmates, threatening his chance at a new life. Cal McMau’s first feature film is a gripping and tightly-focused look at the brutal world inside prison, with excellent performances from up-and-coming British actors David Jonsson and Tom Blyth.
Cal McMau’s first film as director, *Wasteman*, is a hard-hitting British thriller about a prisoner whose hope for early release is jeopardized by a new, extremely violent cellmate. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6th and will have its UK premiere at the 69th BFI London Film Festival as part of its Thrill strand.
WASTEMAN IS IN UK CINEMAS on 20th FEBRUARY 2026
