The best part of the Super Bowl, besides the commercials and Puppy Bowl, is always the new movie and TV show trailers. With so many people watching, it’s the perfect time for studios to release previews of their most anticipated projects.
Because so many people watch the Super Bowl, it’s a prime opportunity for movie studios to release trailers. This strategy has proven successful for major franchises like Mission Impossible, Lilo & Stitch, and How to Train Your Dragon, so we can expect to see some exciting previews during the game this year.
Below are all the trailers we can expect this Super Bowl Sunday:
Scream 7 (Already Released)
Even though it’s already been announced, the next Scream movie is still generating buzz, especially now that Matthew Lillard is confirmed to return. Marketing has been minimal – we’ve only seen a couple of trailers – and it doesn’t seem like Paramount will release any more during the Super Bowl, though there’s a small chance we might get a Street Fighter trailer. Scream 7 is currently set to come out on February 27, 2026.
Michael
The Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, is back on track after a two-year pause and is set to premiere in theaters this April. A teaser and trailer have already been released, with the trailer debuting earlier this week. More promotional material, possibly even new clips, could be revealed during the Super Bowl. Michael is currently scheduled for release on April 24, 2026.
Project Hail Mary
Amazon MGM Studios has revealed that a 30-second trailer for Project Hail Mary will air during the Super Bowl this Sunday, along with the film’s final trailer. Starring Ryan Gosling, Project Hail Mary is based on the popular novel by Andy Weir and will be Amazon MGM’s second movie released in IMAX within a short period. The film is scheduled to premiere on March 20, 2026.
Hoppers
Pixar’s newest movie is looking promising, with predictions of a $50 million opening weekend in the US and Canada. Directed by Daniel Chong, Hoppers tells the story of Mabel, a quirky animal lover who invents a robotic beaver to stop a construction company from destroying the homes of the animals she cares for. Hoppers is scheduled to hit theaters on March 6, 2026.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
A new trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the follow-up to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, debuted two weeks ago, finally showing fans the popular character Yoshi. We’ll be seeing even more of Yoshi—and more exciting adventures—in a commercial during the big game. The movie is adding Brie Larson and Benny Safdie to its already impressive cast, which includes Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jack Black. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set to release on April 1, 2026.
Disclosure Day
Steven Spielberg is back at the Super Bowl with a sneak peek at his new movie, Disclosure Day. During the 2026 game, viewers will see a short, 30-second trailer. A longer trailer will be released in a few weeks, but fans can expect it to be worth the wait! Disclosure Day tells the story of a whistleblower whose revelation of alien life throws the world into chaos. The movie is set to hit theaters on June 12th, 2026.
The Mandalorian & Grogu
It’s been almost seven years since the last Star Wars film, but Lucasfilm is returning to that galaxy far, far away with The Mandalorian and Grogu, starring Pedro Pascal and directed by Jon Favreau. This project is intended to kick off a new era for the studio, leading up to the 50th anniversary re-release of Star Wars in February 2027, and a new film, Star Wars: Starfighter, in May 2027. Following the model of the Solo: A Star Wars Story Super Bowl promotion in 2018, we expect The Mandalorian to also receive its own promotional event and a new online trailer. The movie is currently scheduled for release on May 22, 2026.
Toy Story 5
It’s been almost ten years since the last Toy Story movie, and many fans wondered if a fifth film would ever happen. Now, the first trailer for Toy Story 5 is here! The movie brings back Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and all our favorite toys for a new adventure. This time, they’re facing a unique villain: the excessive screen time of kids, represented by a tablet character named Lilypad. While some believe the series has run its course, many others are thrilled to return to this beloved world. Toy Story 5 is set to be released on June 19, 2026.
Minions 3

Despite a low-key start to its marketing, Minions 3 is expected to generate a lot of buzz with its first official trailer during the Super Bowl. Although details about the cast and story haven’t been revealed, sources suggest the movie will follow a new group of Minions embarking on their own adventure. Minions 3 is currently scheduled for release on July 1, 2026.
What Won’t We See?
We probably won’t see a lot of big announcements this year. Marvel seems pleased with the excitement surrounding Avengers: Doomsday, though a short final trailer during the Super Bowl is possible. Warner Bros. rarely advertises during the game, so don’t expect anything new about Dune 3, Mortal Kombat 2, or The Bride. Any footage for Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey will likely be clips we’ve already seen.
