The previous record was held by “Mugen Train,” with “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” in second place (now third). Fandango Comments on Infinity Castle‘s Success
Together with the news that Infinity Castle has broken Fandango’s anime pre-sale record, Jerramhy Hainline, EVP of Fandango, issued a statement acknowledging the movie’s remarkable achievement. “We are astounded by the immense enthusiasm for the debut of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, as demonstrated by the enormous number of tickets sold on its first day,” the statement read. “The phenomenal reception is a clear indication of the anime fanbase’s influence, and we are incredibly proud to assist in bringing anime to theaters, allowing fans to enjoy it on the big screen.
The “Infinity Castle” made its premiere in Japan during July. Starting September 12th, it will screen in US theaters. Derived from the popular manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, the movie continues the storyline post the conclusion of the Hashira Training Arc, an event that resulted in the Ubuyashiki Mansion’s destruction and the Hashiras being drawn into the Infinity Castle to confront Muzan.
