***Warning: Spoilers for Wednesday season 2 part 2 ahead***
As a movie buff putting it in my own words, here’s how I would rephrase that sentence from the first person perspective: On a recent chat about the next chapter of “Wednesday,” actor Hunter Doohan, who plays Tyler, has shared some insights into where his character may be headed after Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday decided to part ways with him.
In the final episode of season 2, Tyler was deceived by his mother Francoise (Frances O’Connor) into undergoing a risky procedure at the hands of his uncle Isaac (Owen Painter). This procedure aimed to strip him of his Hyde powers, with Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) serving as the unwilling participant in a shocking surgical operation.
On Wednesdays arrival to rescue her sibling, she found herself with a chance to end the harassment of Tyler, a person who had been menacing her friends and threatening her life. Yet, instead of taking his life, she freed him with a powerful strike of an axe, merely saying: “I slipped.
Throughout the entire performance, an interesting turn of events unfolded where rather than taking his life to bring an end to everything, she chose to free him instead. Remarkably, they seemed to be aiding one another,” he noted.
Indeed, she is liberating him from the control of his master once more. In that instance, he lends a hand by engaging with Francoise.
He commented that the final line was brilliantly thought up by Jenna, showing her continuous growth and creativity. Moreover, it was awe-inspiring to observe all the innovative ideas she brought forward.
Unfortunately for Tyler, having his freedom isn’t entirely liberating; it comes with a condition. As per the series’ backstory, Hydes can’t exist independently – they require a dominant figure to guide them. Now that his master Francoise has passed away, Tyler is effectively ticking down the clock on his existence.

However, he receives a new chance when Isadora Capri (Billie Piper) informs him about a group of Hydes living collectively. Since they function as one strong entity, they no longer require a master to exist. At the end of their encounter, they departed towards an unknown destination to search for this group.
In the first season, it was clear that Laurel held the reins. His belief was that eliminating their connection, which had grown weakened, would set him free. Little did he know, this act would drive Hyde insane. Throughout episode 5, we see him gradually slipping away from reality, consumed by anger and on the brink of death.

“Then he’s under his mother and Isaac’s control basically for the last three episodes.
In the finale, it’s evident that he recognizes his impending death since he no longer has a leader or guide. Despair has consumed him entirely until a small ray of hope emerges through Capri’s character.
“So I think he’s like, What do I have to lose? Truly, I’ve lost everyone. It can’t get worse.”
