What Led to 1000-Lb. Sisters’ Amy Slaton, Tammy Slaton’s Vicious Feud

Amy Slaton can’t take another ounce of Tammy Slaton’s criticism. 

That’s why, as revealed on the season eight premiere of 1000-Lb. Sisters, the stars confirmed they’re still not speaking to each other.

During a recent episode, Amy expressed strong frustration with Tammy, stating she was done trying to accommodate Tammy’s preferences. She said she wouldn’t change her own behavior to please Tammy any longer.

Amy, who is currently estranged from her sister Amanda Halterman, confirmed she hasn’t seen Tammy for the past two months.

In a separate confessional, Tammy shared that their feud dates back to her skin-removal surgery. 

I had a major fight with Amy the last time we were together,” he explained. “Basically, she left me stranded in Pittsburgh. I tried to explain how hurt I was that she left, but she turned it around and accused me of being a bully.

Amy felt hurt that Tammy refused to hear her out, especially since she’d left the situation because Amanda was bullying her.

I hoped to explain my reasons for leaving and have her understand, maybe even acknowledge that Amanda could be unkind. But she quickly became unpleasant herself.

She admitted leaving early had upset Tammy, but explained she needed to stand up for herself. She said, “This isn’t just about Pittsburgh; it’s about letting you know I won’t tolerate being treated this way anymore.”

Meanwhile, Tammy admitted, “I don’t know why she thinks all of us are bullying her.”

We definitely joke around with each other,” she admitted. “And we do offer her advice, but she doesn’t usually take it.

When Amy mentioned Tammy teasing her about a photo on Instagram, Tammy said she didn’t mean to be hurtful or unkind.

Even though Tammy didn’t seem upset with her sister, she said she needed some space right now.

Tammy thought, “If Amy needs some time to herself because she’s feeling down and like everyone, even her family, dislikes her, then I’m going to give her that space.”

Amy said she’s unsure how to fix things with her sister.

“I think I’m better off not talking to her,” Amy said. “I can do bad all on my own.”

In July 2024, Chris Combs, Tammy Slaton’s brother, posted a selfie on Instagram to celebrate her birthday. He wrote a heartfelt message wishing her a happy birthday and thanking her for being his little sister, hoping she has a wonderful day.

Amy shared a sweet moment on Instagram in 2022, posting about her son Gage wanting to cuddle with their pet, Glenn. She captioned the photo, saying her heart was full.

Tammy and Chris met with comedian Chelcie Lynn in 2023.

In October 2022, Amy and her then-husband Michael took their kids to the pumpkin patch.

Amy and Michael welcomed their youngest son Glenn in July 2022.

In 2021, Tammy, Amy, Chris, and Michael took a family trip to Southern Belle Farm in Georgia.
