What the Love Island USA Cast Was Told About Cierra Ortega’s Exit

A hot new explanation has entered—er, left—the villa.

After Zak Srakaew left Love Island USA during season seven, he has now disclosed the details of the incident that led to Cierra Ortega’s removal due to her inappropriate social media content.

In a recent TikTok live session, I shared, “When Cierra departed, they summoned us – the team behind the scenes, and informed us, ‘Regrettably, Cierra has breached some of our established rules. Consequently, she won’t be with us in the villa any longer. And that’s everything we can share for now.’

He and his fellow Islanders “weren’t quite clear about what was happening,” he explained further, but they were told to communicate exclusively with the producers only when someone required conversation.

As for how Cierra’s partner Nic Vansteenberghe felt about her sudden exit?

Zak remarked that Nic was quite disheartened by her departure. Interestingly, before she moved on with Bryan Arenales, they were a couple with Amaya Espinal. However, Zak couldn’t be excessively upset, nor could he fully articulate his feelings towards the situation until he discovered what she had done or said.

The 29-year-old went on to say, “Even though one may wish to sympathize with someone in such a situation, it’s hard to truly feel compassion until you understand the specific reason behind their removal from the show for making an offensive statement.

In the July 6 episode of Peacock’s series, I, as a dedicated follower, was informed about Cierra’s departure. The narrator, Iain Stirling, mentioned that a “personal situation” led to this decision. Subsequently, posts surfaced online (though their authenticity hasn’t been verified by TopMob News) where Cierra, at the age of 25, appeared to use a racial slur, which likely contributed to her departure.

She emphasized, “I strongly oppose all forms of prejudice and discrimination, be it bigotry or racism. Yet, I’m equally against hatred. So, I kindly urge you to reconsider before posting harsh remarks towards or about this individual.

In the time since, dumped Islanders have addressed the controversy.

Jeremiah Brown expressed during his TikTok Live broadcast on July 7, “I don’t approve of any form of racial slurs.” He added, “Racial matters have always puzzled me. I’ve been dealing with this issue my entire life. To me, racial issues are never acceptable or fashionable.

Meanwhile, Belle-A Walker applauded production’s decision to remove Cierra from the show.

In her Instagram posts on July 6th, she expressed her gratitude towards the producers of “Love Island USA” for firmly stating that they do not condone any form of racism. When she initially saw her fellow contestant’s racist remarks on their social media accounts, it left her deeply saddened.

She emphasized that she rejects all forms of bigotry and racism, as well as hate. She encourages everyone to exercise caution when making hurtful remarks towards or about this individual.
