After a nearly three-year wait, the second season of Netflix’s One Piece live-action series is about to launch. While some fans were doubtful at first, the first season, released in 2023, was a hit with both viewers and critics, becoming the most popular live-action series ever for the streaming platform. The show also helped introduce the One Piece story to a wider global audience – exactly what creator Eiichiro Oda hoped for when he approved the adaptation. Though not a direct copy of the manga, the series captures the heart and spirit of Oda’s original vision, making it enjoyable even for longtime manga fans.
The first season ends with the Arlong Park story, and the Loguetown Arc will be shown in the upcoming second season. Season 2 will follow the Straw Hat Pirates as they reach Loguetown and begin their dangerous voyage into the Grand Line – a place known as the Pirate Graveyard. Fans can look forward to some highly anticipated scenes and the introduction of new characters leading up to the Alabasta Saga. Here’s the premiere date for the new season.
Netflix’s One Piece Live-Action Season 2 Release Date and Time

Season two will premiere on March 10th at midnight Pacific Time, which is typical for new releases on Netflix. Like the first season, all eight episodes will be available at once. These next two seasons will cover the Alabasta Saga, the second major storyline in the series. While the live-action adaptation plans to cover all 11 sagas from the original manga—including the current Final Saga—a large portion of the story remains. Even with some scenes being cut and changes made, adapting the entire manga will likely take several years.
I’m so hyped for Season 2! The Straw Hats are finally heading into the Grand Line – a place we’ve only heard whispers about, and it sounds absolutely wild! Everything is a threat there, from crazy weather to the people they’ll meet, but honestly, our crew is ready for anything. And get this – we’re going to meet a bunch of new characters, some of whom will even join the Going Merry and sail around the world with us! It’s going to be epic!
