What Time Stranger Things Season 5, Part 1 Releases & How Many Episodes There Are

After a long wait, Season 5 of Stranger Things is almost here. The last season aired in summer 2022, leaving viewers on a huge cliffhanger and hinting at an even greater threat from Vecna and the Upside Down. Now, three and a half years later, everything is ready for a final, massive battle – this season will be the last one. Most of the original cast is returning, and Netflix is planning a major launch, potentially making it the biggest TV event of the year.

Stranger Things Season 5, Volume 1 will be released on Netflix at 5 pm PT/8 pm ET on November 26th, 2025 (and at 1 am on the 27th for UK viewers), and consists of four episodes. This is a major departure from the streamer’s typical release strategy, where new movies and TV shows usually drop at midnight PT/3 am ET on the day of release, but then there’s not much typical about the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. This is, after all, Netflix’s flagship series, and it wants to make it a true holiday event. With more people at home for Thanksgiving, then the timing ensures they can watch it together either on the Wednesday evening before the day itself, or it’ll be there for the holiday.

Stranger Things Season 5’s Full Episode Release Schedule For All Volumes

Netflix will release the final season of Stranger Things in three parts. The second part, consisting of three episodes, will be available on Christmas Day at 5 pm Pacific Time/8 pm Eastern Time. Viewers in the UK can start watching at 1 am on Boxing Day.

The final episode of the series, which makes up Volume 3, will be released on New Year’s Eve. This extended episode is expected to be over two hours long and will be available both for streaming and in select theaters across the United States and Canada. See the schedule below for specific release times.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is expected to be a massive hit for Netflix, potentially its biggest ever. While Season 4 was incredibly popular with 140.7 million viewers, it was surpassed by Wednesday Season 1, which reached 252 million (according to Tudum). Squid Game currently holds the top spot with all three seasons performing well, and Season 1 achieving a record of 265.2 million views. Beating that number will be a challenge, but Stranger Things Season 5 is a major global event, and its release in three parts could help it succeed. Netflix is clearly confident in the show, and it’s almost certain to attract a huge audience.

All previous seasons of Stranger Things are streaming on Netflix.
