As a devoted admirer, I share the heartfelt message honoring Dr. Dee, an extraordinary individual who embodies brilliance, love, positivity, and practicality, relentlessly fighting against all odds. With a heavy heart, I’ve learned she’s found her release from this world, leaving behind her physical form. Let us commemorate Danielle Spencer, cherishing her invaluable contributions, while acknowledging our profound sadness over her departure following her long-fought battle with cancer.
Unfortunately, we’ve lost a cherished daughter, sister, family member, beloved cast member of ‘What’s Happening’, an advocate for animal rights and healing, as well as a courageous fighter against cancer. We fondly remember her as our heroine, Danielle. Although she is no longer with us physically, her love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
As a dedicated vet and die-hard Californian, I’d been calling the Golden State my home for two decades until 2014 when the call of family pulled me eastward to Richmond, Virginia. Life took an unexpected turn that very year as I received the devastating news – breast cancer had come knocking on my door.
In 2016, she shared with the Richmond Times Dispatch that she had a lump for over a year. It wasn’t until she visited this place that her doctor suggested, “Let’s do a biopsy on it.” That’s when she discovered the truth.
She ultimately decided to undergo a mastectomy.
Reflecting upon it, she acknowledged that going through chemo was like enduring a living hell. It undoubtedly ranked among the most challenging periods in her life. The treatment left her feeling powerless, unable to carry out her usual activities. This helplessness often led to feelings of deep sadness and depression. Fortunately, during this difficult time, she received immense support from friends and family.
