As another year comes to a close, the annual Team of the Year event in EA Sports FC is almost here.
As always, FC – previously known as FIFA – ends the year by celebrating the best players in the world over the last 12 months.
The FC 26 Team of the Year (TOTY), just like in recent years, will begin with a fan vote to determine the winners, who will then be released as special cards in Ultimate Team packs.

When will voting start for FC 26 TOTY? Our speculation
Based on past patterns, we expect voting for the FC 26 Team of the Year to begin around Monday, January 5th, 2026.
So, last year, the voting kicked off on the first Monday after everyone got back to work after the holidays. For example, the Future Champions Team of the Year voting started on January 6th, 2025 – a Monday, if you’re keeping track!
Voting will be open for approximately one week, similar to last year when it concluded on January 12th. Please cast your vote on the official EA Sports FC website.
When will FC 26 TOTY be released? Our speculation
We expect the first Team of the Year (TOTY) cards for FC 26 to become available around Friday, January 16th, 2026.
We’re predicting this based on what happened last year. The first set of cards, used by attackers, were released two Fridays after voting started.
Okay, so here’s the deal with the drops – they’re happening every Friday. Last year, it started with the attacking players being released. The following week, we got all the men’s and women’s teams revealed, and then a couple weeks later, they dropped the 12th Man and 12th Woman characters. Hopefully, we see a similar pattern this time around!
New FC releases in the UK usually become available around 6 PM GMT on Fridays. While EA might change this pattern, it’s unlikely given how consistently they’ve followed it with this promotion.
