Who is Ambika Mod? Meet The Great Celebrity Bake Off 2026 contestant

The next episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off, featuring five new celebrities, will be on Channel 4 this Sunday.

This week on the show, the celebrity bakers are facing a tough challenge: they’ll be making mini rolls and syrup sponge puddings. Then, they’ll get creative and recreate their most famous outfits using choux pastry! All this is to win over judges Paul Hollywood and Cherish Finden and be crowned Star Baker.

This week’s guests on the show include presenter Alex Brooker, actress Rose Ayling-Ellis, TV personality Vicky Pattison, and jungle champion Sam Thompson, with Ambika Mod also joining them.

But just who is Ambika Mod? Read on to learn more about the British actress as she dons her apron.

Who is Ambika Mod?

Age: 30

Job: Actress

Ambika Mod first gained recognition for her work on the BBC series This Is Going to Hurt, alongside Ben Whishaw. But it was her leading role as Emma in the 2024 Netflix hit One Day that really made her a star.

She’s also been in several TV shows, like the Disney+ thriller The Stolen Girl and I Hate Suzie. On stage, she’s performed in productions such as Every Brilliant Thing, Porn Play, and White Rabbit Red Rabbit.

This year is shaping up to be busy for the actress. She’s lending her voice to a new animated movie on Netflix called Swapped, and will also be the voice of Nymphadora Tonks in updated versions of the Harry Potter audiobooks. She’s also joining the second season of Keira Knightley’s Black Doves, reuniting with her This Is Going to Hurt co-star Ben Whishaw, though a release date hasn’t been announced yet.

In 2024, Mod was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list under the Entertainment category.
