Who left Strictly 2025? Ninth celebrity to be voted out revealed

The semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing are almost here, but unfortunately, one celebrity had to leave the competition after a thrilling week of performances.

Musicals Week was a huge success! Saturday night’s performances were full of energy and excitement, with all five couples delivering impressive dances that wowed the judges and viewers. The show also had some genuinely touching moments, like a heartfelt exchange between Motsi Mabuse and Bavinder Sopal.

Not all of the celebrity contestants made it to the semi-finals. Ultimately, Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin faced Lewis Cope and Katya Jones in a dance-off, and the viewers voted to eliminate one of the couples, making them the ninth celebrity to leave Strictly.

I got to see Amber and Nikita perform their Charleston and ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat’ number from ‘Guys and Dolls’ one more time, and Lewis and Katya repeated their amazing Salsa to ‘Dance at the Gym’ from ‘West Side Story’. It was great!

Okay, so the judges all agreed – Amber and Nikita are staying in the competition! It was a tough one, but sadly that meant Lewis and Katya had to go home. It’s always hard to see anyone leave, but the judges made their decision.

Lewis told Tess Daly he couldn’t have asked for a better experience on the show. He said that if he’d known at the start he’d last 11 weeks, he would have been thrilled. He expressed his gratitude to everyone involved for creating a supportive environment where people could be themselves and develop.

This has been an amazing experience, one I’ll never forget. Katya, I truly believe it’s all thanks to you. You’ve been the perfect friend and teacher, giving me everything I could have hoped for. I can’t imagine going through this with anyone else, so thank you so much.

Katya immediately praised the actor, saying he’d created many unforgettable moments on Strictly Come Dancing. She believes he’ll be remembered as one of the show’s best male celebrity contestants, and even more importantly, as a wonderful person.

It’s wonderful to meet genuinely kind people, and you are a true gentleman – so humble and thoughtful. I’m really happy we got to spend time with you, share your talent with everyone, and show the world what a wonderful person you are. Thank you so much.

Lewis also talked about the support he’d received on the show. He told Tess that it meant everything, saying, “What’s life without people? This show has brought so many people together – not just my family, but it seems to inspire everyone. It’s definitely been a special time for us, with four generations of my family gathering every Saturday night, including my Nana Dot, who’s always smiling.”

We’ve had young boys reach out, saying they never thought dance was something they could do. They’ve started taking classes and are even sending us videos of their progress. It’s incredibly rewarding – if you can help just one person discover something they love, that’s a huge accomplishment.

With Lewis and Katya eliminated, only four couples are left competing on Strictly as they head into the semi-finals. They’ll face a challenge next week, as they each need to perform two dances.

Plus, pop icon Kylie Minogue will be appearing with the Strictly Come Dancing professionals, and the band Five will perform a medley of their biggest songs.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday 13th December at 6:35pm.
