Okay, huge spoilers ahead for the latest Grey’s Anatomy! In season 22, episode 11, “(If You Want It) Do It Yourself,” they introduced a new plastics attending, Dr. Toni Wright, and I swear I recognized the actress from somewhere. Turns out, Toni has a history with Amelia Shepherd – they went to med school together! Amelia always thought Toni disliked her, but it was way more complicated than that. When they finally talked, Toni confessed she actually had a crush on Amelia and that’s why she kept her distance! It was a pretty surprising reveal, honestly.
Following a successful surgery they worked on together, Amelia admitted she’d also been attracted to Toni, but hadn’t understood her feelings then and regretted not realizing it sooner. Toni asked Amelia out, and they went back to Amelia’s place, where they became intimate. A preview for the upcoming episode of Grey’s Anatomy showed Toni asking Amelia on a real date, which Amelia accepted. However, Amelia hesitated and didn’t tell Toni about her son.

Jen Landon is the newest addition to the cast of Grey’s Anatomy, playing the character Toni Wright. The 42-year-old actress comes from a well-known family – her father was the celebrated actor and filmmaker Michael Landon, and her mother is Cindy Clerico, Michael Landon’s third wife. Following a traumatic hostage situation where she nearly lost both a potential partner, Dr. Monica Beltran, and the father of her child, Dr. Atticus Lincoln, Amelia took time off work to recover. Now, as she rebuilds her life, her relationship with Toni faces a critical turning point – they could find strength and support in each other, or their connection could fall apart, though their shared past might ultimately draw them closer.
Toni has become a new romantic interest for Amelia, and she’s also pushed Dr. Ben Warren to become a better surgeon. Ben, hoping to learn plastic surgery from her, felt he wasn’t meeting her standards and asked for advice on how to improve.
I was really struck by what Toni told Ben. She basically said the surgeons who really shine are the ones who truly believe in themselves, and that confidence is what lets them be amazing with plastics. She was pretty direct with Ben, admitting she didn’t see that level of self-assurance from him when they worked together, but she’s hopeful he’ll show it next time. Honestly, I think having Toni around Grey Sloan is exactly what Ben needs to push himself and become the best surgeon he can be.
Where You’ve Seen Jen Landon Before

Landon portrayed Gwen Norbeck Munson on the soap opera As the World Turns from 2005 to 2008 and again in 2010. She received three Daytime Emmy Awards in a row, from 2006 to 2008, for her performance as Gwen. In addition, Landon appeared as Heather Stevens in 28 episodes of The Young and the Restless.
Landon has played roles in several TV shows, including Animal Kingdom, The Resident, and FBI: Most Wanted. She’s best known recently for her role as Teeter in Yellowstone, which she played from 2020 to 2024 across seasons 3 through 5.
The newest addition to the cast of Grey’s Anatomy instantly made a splash, and viewers are eager to see what’s next for her character, Toni. Her budding relationship with Amelia and potential mentorship of Ben promise to bring some exciting changes to the hospital. The actress, Landon, is a perfect fit for the role, and fans hope Toni will be a long-lasting presence on the show.
