Whoopi Goldberg’s Stunning Met Gala Comeback Has Everyone Talking!

Whoopi Goldberg is loving the view at the 2025 Met Gala.

Four years have passed since the actress known for Sister Act walked the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This year, she reappeared on those same steps, making a grand comeback at the event themed “Tailoring Black Style”.

At this unique Met Gala event, Whoopi Goldberg donned a stylish tuxedo-inspired gown in black and white. The outfit included a collared button-down shirt and tie, with buttons running throughout the ensemble. A patterned coat fell from her shoulders, while she completed the look with a black top hat adorned with a net veil. For her hairstyle, Whoopi, who turned 69, chose sleek black dreadlocks to match her ensemble, which perfectly followed the theme “Tailored For You”. (Check out all the stars at the gala here.)

The appearance of the host on the stage is significantly distinct from the six-layered, flowing purple Valentino couture dress she donned at the 2021 Met Gala event.

She acknowledged being surprised when Pierpaolo Piccioli asked her to wear his designs for the night’s theme, titled “In America: A Fashion Vocabulary.

On The View, Whoopi recollected her conversation with Pierpaolo, stating, “I view them as women who embody couture, and it’s important for many women to realize that couture lies within them, not the other way around.

As I graced the event in my elegant gown and exquisite Valentino heels, I must admit, the enchantment of the evening was somewhat short-lived. By the end of the night, I found myself preoccupied not with the festivities or the royal surroundings, but rather with a single concern: the state of my feet.

In a joking manner, she told her fellow hosts, “Sitting here makes me think, ‘Goodness gracious! If I don’t remove these shoes, I might just lose my temper!’

And that feeling didn’t go away, either.
