Many consider Robert Downey Jr. the best actor to play a superhero, thanks to his iconic role as Tony Stark, or Iron Man. But a real goat played a surprising role in playfully frustrating his co-star, Sam Rockwell, as Sam Rockwell himself recently shared. It was a confusing story for many when Rockwell first told it!
I recently heard Anthony Mackie tell this hilarious story! Apparently, Robert Downey Jr. totally stole the show when the trailer for Captain America: Brave New World was being revealed. It’s funny to think about, considering how far Mackie’s come in the MCU, going from Falcon to actually being Captain America, but RDJ managed to one-up him even then!
But wait, there’s more — so much more.
I was so excited to meet Harrison Ford! I don’t even remember the name of the movie – maybe Doomsday or something similar – but he could have filmed his scenes any day. He didn’t need to do it during Comic-Con! I just wanted that one day at Comic-Con. Seriously, we were filming in Georgia, and his personal chef dug a pit and cooked a whole goat, camping out there with it! It’s true! I have no idea where they even got a goat in Georgia, but he cooked me a meal like that, so he could have easily let me have that day at Comic-Con.
Everyone expected Mackie’s first solo movie as Captain America to be huge. However, Downey surprised everyone by returning as Iron Man, but this time as the villain Victor Von Doom. This unexpected turn quickly became the main topic of discussion and left fans wondering what it meant for the future of Marvel movies.
Doctor Doom Better Watch Out for Captain America
It’s a funny story, but it fits Robert Downey Jr. perfectly! He’s known for playing both heroes and villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now he’s playfully ‘villainous’ towards Anthony Mackie. Mackie seemed to enjoy telling the story, but he’s also eager to get some playful revenge on Downey when he gets to play Doctor Doom.
Sam Wilson will definitely get the opportunity to confront Emperor God Doom on screen. It’s also been reported that Wilson’s Captain America has assembled a team of superheroes, setting the stage for Avengers: Doomsday. However, Steve Rogers—Chris Evans—is returning, potentially taking some of the spotlight. While it’s fun to imagine a rivalry, it’s unlikely Evans will face a physical challenge, as there’s no history of a pre-fight goat-feeding ritual.
Captain America: Brave New World is currently streaming on Disney+.
