Wicked: For Good’s early Rotten Tomatoes score revealed as wave of reviews arrive – is it as good as the first?

With the release of Wicked: For Good in cinemas just two days away, early reviews are starting to come in as excitement builds.

As of Wednesday, November 19th, after receiving 105 reviews, the film has a 72% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The first movie received an 88% positive rating. While reviews are still generally favorable, more critics seem to have disliked ‘Wicked: For Good’ compared to the original ‘Wicked’.

The first Wicked movie currently has 403 reviews, meaning the score for the second film could change significantly as more people share their opinions.

Empire magazine found the characters noticeably less upbeat than in the previous installment, making it less fun to watch. The Independent was even more critical, describing the sequel as a pointless and tedious experience.

He explained to People that he didn’t want to disrupt anyone’s existing idea of who Dorothy is or their personal connection to the story. He sees Dorothy as a manipulated figure caught in a larger conflict.
