Will Smith is facing legal troubles.
Violinist Brian King Joseph, who performed with the rapper known as “Miami” in 2024 and 2025, is suing Smith and his management team. According to a lawsuit reported by NBC News and People magazine, Joseph claims he was wrongfully fired and faced retaliation after reporting sexual harassment.
In a lawsuit filed December 30th in Los Angeles County court, Joseph alleges that Will Smith began manipulating him for potential sexual abuse after Joseph joined Smith’s global tour, Based on a True Story. The complaint claims Smith and Joseph spent time alone together, and that Smith told Joseph they had a unique and close bond.
The complaint details an incident from March 2025 in Las Vegas where someone entered the violinist’s hotel room. He reported it to hotel security, the police, and representatives for Smith, claiming no signs of forced entry. He stated that only members of Smith’s team had access to his room.
In a complaint, Joseph stated that when he returned to his room, he discovered items belonging to someone else, including wipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack, HIV medication labeled with another person’s name, an earring, and hospital discharge papers. The complaint also mentioned he found a note addressed to someone named Brian, signed “Stone F.”, which said the writer would return by 5:30.
Okay, so after reading that note, I instantly knew something was terribly wrong. I mean, it basically said someone was going to come back to his room… to do things. It was horrifying! He reported it right away, which he absolutely should have. But then, days later, those people representing the rapper… they just turned around and accused him of making it all up! And then they fired him! It’s unbelievable, honestly. They didn’t even try to investigate, they just sided with the alleged perpetrator and punished him for being a victim. I’m still furious just thinking about it.
During the legal case, Joseph shared a statement from Smith’s representative. They accused him of fabricating the events, saying people were telling them no incident occurred and that he invented the story. They then directly asked Joseph why he would lie and create a false narrative.

Joseph claims in his lawsuit that his former employer didn’t take any steps to protect him after his termination. He states this led to significant emotional and financial hardship, as well as damage to his reputation, though the specific amount of financial loss wasn’t detailed in the court filing.
Following the filing, Allen B. Grodsky slammed Joseph’s allegations.
In a statement to TopMob News, my client’s lawyer said the claims made by Mr. Joseph are untrue, without foundation, and irresponsible. He stated they completely deny the allegations and will pursue all legal options to defend their client and reveal the facts.
