Will there be a Robin Hood season 2 on MGM+? Latest news and speculation

Now that the final episode of Robin Hood has aired on MGM+, many viewers are wondering if the show will be renewed for another season.

The show began airing in early November and features a strong cast, including Sean Bean (known from ‘This City Is Ours’) and Connie Nielsen (from ‘Gladiator II’). Jack Patten stars as the main character, named Rob in this series.

The show, a 10-episode drama, updated the traditional story of a charming outlaw, according to its description. However, it’s still unclear if it will be renewed for another season. Creator Jules Patten recently told the Manchester Evening News they’d be thrilled to make a second season, calling it “awesome.”

But will it happen? Read on for everything we know so far.

Will there be a Robin Hood season 2 on MGM+?

As of now, MGM+ have not renewed Robin Hood for season 2.

Now that the show has finished airing, I’m confident we’ll hear about its future plans soon.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, actor David Patten praised the writing of Jonathan English and John Glenn, saying they created fantastic characters. He explained that as an actor, he appreciates a character with development, and that this show provides that. He feels it’s everything an actor could ask for.

McQueen said she’d “definitely” be up for returning if the series is renewed.

She said the season wraps up in a compelling way for all the characters. While there’s potential for further development, they focused on making season one the best it could be.

She added that the cast is full of really talented young actors, and she’s thrilled for audiences to discover them.

“We were just like a big family at the end and I think you can really see that energy on screen.”

When could a potential Robin Hood season 2 be released?

Since Robin Hood hasn’t been officially picked up for another season, it’s difficult to say when new episodes might air.

Assuming the writing and production schedules work out, we might see new episodes as early as late 2026, or possibly in 2027, if the project gets approved soon.

Who could return for a potential Robin Hood season 2?

Jack Patten will almost certainly return as the main character. We also expect to see Lauren McQueen, who plays Maid Marian, along with Sean Bean and Connie Nielsen back for the next installment.
