I just finished the first season of Talamasca: The Secret Order on Netflix (here in the UK) and AMC, and wow, the finale has left me with so many questions! It’s a really intriguing show inspired by Anne Rice, and I’m totally hooked, wondering what this mysterious secret society will get up to next.

This new show takes place in the same fictional world as the popular ‘Interview with the Vampire’ and the lesser-known ‘Mayfair Witches,’ both adapted from novels by the late Anne Rice.

A key connection between Interview with the Vampire and Talamasca is Eric Bogosian, who plays Daniel Molloy. Molloy is the biographer of Louis de Pointe du Lac (played by Jacob Anderson) and was originally featured in the Interview with the Vampire series.

As a big fan of the Immortal Universe, I’d really recommend watching Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire before diving into anything else. It reveals a major twist that will make so much more sense if you see it first, and it’ll give you a much better understanding of everything that’s going on!

AMC hasn’t announced if ‘Talamasca: The Secret Order’ will return for a second season or if it’s been cancelled.

The American television network has consistently backed its shows based on the works of Anne Rice, starting with the popular series Interview with the Vampire and continuing with Mayfair Witches.

Both shows will return for a fourth season, although the second one received poorer reviews. The third show landed somewhere in the middle in terms of how critics liked it.
