*Warning: This article contains full spoilers for Industry season 4.*
With the fourth season of Industry nearing its conclusion, fans began to feel anxious about whether the show would be renewed for another season.
It turns out we just needed a little more patience! Good news for fans: before the last episode aired, the show ‘Industry’ was renewed for one final season – its fifth.
It’s disappointing that the show’s fifth season will be its last, but it promises to end with a spectacular finale.
In a joint statement, the creators of the show, Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, announced they’ve been considering the best way to conclude the series while it’s still at its peak. They explained that, unlike some of the characters, they recognize when it’s time to finish, and expressed gratitude to their dedicated fans, particularly those who have been watching since the beginning.
Season 4 ended with a lot of surprises, leaving fans eager for more. When can we expect season 5, and what new adventures await? Here’s the latest information we have.
Will there be an Industry season 5?

Great news! The show has been renewed for a fifth season, and the announcement was made before the season four finale aired on February 25th.
Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, the creators of the show Industry, expressed their gratitude for the show’s renewal for a fifth season on HBO. They noted it’s a rare achievement, and celebrated the ten-year journey of developing the series, thanking their colleagues at HBO – Casey, Frannie, Kara, Cela, Sam, Kathleen, and Max – for their continued support and belief in the show’s vision.
This show wouldn’t exist without the creativity and faith of Jane Tranter. She and her team at Bad Wolf have been incredible leaders and advocates for us. We’re also very grateful to the BBC for their collaboration.
We’re incredibly grateful to our amazing cast and crew who brought our writing to life. Their exceptional performances ensured these characters will continue to resonate with audiences. It’s always a thrill to see our work with the HBO logo, and we believe HBO remains the best platform for television. We’re excited to continue working with them for many years to come.
Industry season 5 release date speculation
We don’t have a confirmed release date for Industry season 5 yet. Considering there’s typically been a two-year wait between seasons, it’s likely we’ll see the new season around 2028.
Given the show’s continued popularity and the creators’ suggestions that they have a plan for the ending, there’s hope the fifth and final season will arrive quickly. Stay tuned for updates!
Who could return for Industry season 5?

Fans are eager to know who will return for season 5! Given the season 4 finale, it’s likely that Harper Stern (played by Myha’la) and Yasmin Kara-Hanani (played by Marisa Abela) will both be back as leading characters.
The season 4 finale showed Harper succeeding in her career and even exploring office spaces for her business. This suggests she may be hiring new characters to join her team soon.
At the end of the episode, Kwabena (Toheeb Jimoh) was with Harper, suggesting he’ll be back. We can also expect to see Sweetpea (Miriam Petche) again.
It looks like Rishi (Sagar Radia) won’t be returning to the show. While he’s a cat with nine lives, it’s unlikely we’ll see the group visit him in prison, though anything is possible!
It seems unlikely we’ll see Whitney (Max Minghella), Eric Tao (Ken Leung), or Jim Dycker (Charlie Heaton) return, given that their characters apparently died.
Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington) might be leaving the show, as we last saw him under house arrest at his mansion. However, his uncle, Viscount Norton (Andrew Havill), could return, since Yasmin developed a close relationship with him in season four.
I’m really intrigued by Yasmin’s storyline – it feels like her career is about to explode, and I’m expecting to see a lot more of the actress who plays her, especially with Hayley always by her side. And it’s interesting how she was so focused on getting Sebastian Stefanowicz, played by Edward Holcroft, on her side by the end of last season – definitely something to watch for!
Since her new journey will likely introduce her to many difficult and influential people, we can expect to see several new characters added to the cast of Industry.
For now, the cast we’d expect to return for Industry season 5 are as follows.
- Myha’la as Harper Stern
- Marisa Abela as Yasmin Kara-Hanani
- Toheeb Jimoh as Kwabena Bannerman
- Miriam Petche as Sweetpea Golightly
- Kiernan Shipka as Hayley Clay
- Andrew Havill as Alexander, Viscount Norton
- Edward Holcroft as Sebastian Stefanowicz
What could Industry season 5 be about?

Harper is thriving with her business, but Yasmin appears to be involved in dangerous and illegal activities like human trafficking and blackmail. This sets up a lot of possibilities for what will happen in season 5.
The last season of the show surprised viewers by moving away from its focus on the financial world, and many enjoyed the change. Now, fans are wondering if the upcoming season will bring things back to the original setting of trading and finance.
We have a good feeling the show will keep exploring the broader political and social issues surrounding the financial world, and we’re really looking forward to seeing where it goes!
Now that Harper’s Tender operation has gained attention, will she keep pursuing companies engaging in fraud? It doesn’t seem like she’s interested in exposing wrongdoing for the sake of it, but with her profile rising, it’s unclear what she’ll do next. Let’s hope she avoids becoming as power-hungry as her mentor, Eric, but only time will tell.
It’s unclear if Yasmin will return to a traditional communications role or keep organizing events for wealthy people. While we anticipate she’ll continue with the events, things could get complicated and potentially problematic. Despite this, we’re still excited to see what happens.
