The video game world is constantly changing, with big game series building out their stories across several different games. While there hadn’t been much talk recently about games crossing over with each other, comments from Insomniac Games, the studio behind the Marvel games, have gotten people talking again. A recent hint suggests that two of their most popular heroes might finally appear together in the same game.
Yuri Lowenthal teases Spider-Man and Wolverine’s PS5 crossover
Yuri Lowenthal, the actor who plays Peter Parker in the PlayStation Spider-Man games, recently spoke with The Direct about the possibility of Spider-Man and Wolverine meeting. While promoting his new course with Tara Platt, he confirmed that both characters are part of the same gaming universe, but clarified that they haven’t crossed paths on screen yet.
As a huge fan, I was really interested to hear Lowenthal say he’s definitely up for seeing those characters interact – he said he’d ‘love to see them together’! Apparently, as far as he knows, they haven’t even met yet, which is wild to think about. Ultimately, though, he made it clear it’s up to the studio to actually make a crossover happen, and create the right circumstances for it.
Platt pointed out how great it would be to see Spider-Man and Deadpool team up. This led Lowenthal to share some other character combinations he’s hoping for, like Spider-Man and Moon Knight. He even added he’d be thrilled to play both Spider-Man and Moon Knight himself, admitting he has a lot of exciting ideas as a fan.
Lowenthal clarified that he wasn’t involved in making the Wolverine game and admitted he’s been finding out about its development alongside everyone else, calling the process a mystery. He reiterated that, as far as he knows, his character hasn’t crossed paths with Wolverine in the game’s storyline, but he’s eager to see that happen if possible.
Insomniac Games revealed their Wolverine game in 2021. Despite a security breach in 2023 that exposed some gameplay and story information, they’ve stayed on track with development. They’ve confirmed Liam McIntyre will play Wolverine, and the game is still planned to launch in Fall 2026.
Beyond their work on video games, Lowenthal and Platt created “Voice-Over Voice Actor: The Course,” a comprehensive program with 17 modules and over nine hours of instruction. Platt explained it’s similar to an introductory college course on voice acting, and Lowenthal added that they designed it to help newcomers who weren’t sure where to start.
