‘Wonder Man’ Is the Perfect ‘She-Hulk’ Season 2 Replacement, 4 Years Later

Since the release of Avengers: Endgame, several new characters have joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but She-Hulk’s future seems the most uncertain. While characters like Shang-Chi are set to return in Avengers: Doomsday, and Ms. Marvel appeared in The Marvels, and even the Eternals and Moon Knight were featured in What If…?, there’s been no news about a second season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law or if Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk will appear in future films like Avengers: Doomsday.

The recent decision to renew Wonder Man could open the door for She-Hulk and actress Tatiana Maslany to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The renewal came almost two months after the series first aired, which was a significant achievement considering it nearly got cancelled during production. It has since become one of the most critically acclaimed shows in the franchise. The first season of Wonder Man ended with actor Simon Williams (Yahya Abdull-Mateen II) helping his friend and fellow actor Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) escape from a Damage Control prison. With the two now on the run, this sets up Season 2 of Wonder Man and creates a logical way to bring Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. She-Hulk, into the story.

She-Hulk Should Return in ‘Wonder Man’ Season 2

It’s a natural fit to connect She-Hulk and Wonder Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both of their shows are based in Los Angeles, and the buildings used for filming their apartments are actually quite close to each other – only about a 16-minute drive apart in West Hollywood. That means these two characters live closer together than many of the heroes in New York City.

Beyond sharing the same universe, She-Hulk is a great addition to the Wonder Man story. As a lawyer with superpowers, she’s uniquely positioned to defend Simon Williams, who is currently a fugitive. She could also fight unfair laws, like the one in Hollywood that prevents people with powers from working in film and television. Plus, she could go up against the Department of Damage Control (DODC), who are tracking Simon Williams. She-Hulk has experience with the DODC’s Supermax Prison – she previously represented a client held there, and she herself was briefly imprisoned there with a power-dampening collar.

As a huge Marvel fan, I think it would be amazing to see She-Hulk pop up in Season 2 of Wonder Man. It could really benefit Simon Williams’ story! Imagine if she was his lawyer – it would instantly tie him into the bigger MCU picture, and she could even act as a mentor. It strikes me that Jennifer Walters and Simon have surprisingly similar journeys. She didn’t want to be known as She-Hulk, just a lawyer, and he just wants to be an actor. But by the end of She-Hulk, Jen figured out she didn’t have to choose – she could be both. Given that Simon’s been hiding his powers for years but is now likely exposed, She-Hulk could be the perfect person to show him he can embrace being a superhero and continue his acting career. It feels like a natural fit and could be a really compelling storyline.

Bringing She-Hulk into the Wonder Man series also solves some problems with potentially making a second season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Financially, featuring her as a supporting character in Wonder Man reduces the number of expensive visual effects shots needed. Plus, the first She-Hulk series received mixed reactions and faced a lot of negative online reviews, creating a perception of controversy. A second season would have to address that. By making her a supporting character in the already-popular Wonder Man, the show can develop her story without the pressure of carrying her own series and potentially facing similar criticism.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe often keeps its characters relevant by having them appear in supporting roles in other projects, even without their own standalone movies or shows. We’ve seen this with characters like Black Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Hulk appearing in Thor: Ragnarok. Because all the MCU stories are connected, it’s easy to bring characters into different films and TV series. Although a second season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law isn’t confirmed, continuing She-Hulk’s story in the upcoming Wonder Man series would be a great way to do so.

Would Tatiana Maslany Want to Return?

The main challenge in getting Tatiana Maslany back as She-Hulk for Season 2 of Wonder Man is the intense online negativity she’s faced. Maslany has spoken about receiving a lot of hateful and targeted harassment, with some people even going back years to criticize her and the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series on her old Instagram posts. The online reaction was so negative that a false rumor spread claiming she sued Disney over Ryan Reynolds’ role in Deadpool & Wolverine – a claim that was completely unfounded. Maslany has repeatedly addressed the online chatter about her supposed firing, even making jokes about it, like she did on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast in January 2026.

Tatiana Maslany may be hesitant to work with Disney again. She publicly called for a boycott of Disney+ after ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel, which likely upset Disney executives. Considering this, and the regular online harassment she and her character, She-Hulk, receive, it’s understandable if she doesn’t want to reprise the role. Losing her talent and a compelling character like She-Hulk would be a significant loss for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though.

Even if She-Hulk isn’t joining the main Avengers team right away, she’d be a great fit for Season 2 of Wonder Man. It could even lead to a new version of the West Coast Avengers, since Wonder Man was one of the original members in the comics. This would also be a good opportunity to bring Moon Knight back into the fold, as he also had a history with that team. They could include other heroes based on the West Coast, like Shang-Chi, Ant-Man, Wasp, or Cassie Lang. At the very least, She-Hulk would add a lot of humor to the show alongside Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery.
