WWE Just Trolled Goldberg’s Asuka Comments On Raw In The Best Possible Way

Honestly, I was a little disappointed with how Goldberg’s last run in WWE played out – the stories just weren’t very strong, and it didn’t feel quite right. He’s been pretty vocal about his frustrations with it all, and recently he made some really dismissive comments about Asuka ending his winning streak, calling her “some girl.” It was pretty rough to hear. Tonight on Raw, WWE celebrated Asuka’s amazing 10-year anniversary, which was fantastic, but they also seemed to directly call out Goldberg for his comments – it was a clear jab at him, and honestly, I think it was well-deserved.

During tonight’s Raw, WWE showed a video celebrating Asuka’s career highlights. The video specifically emphasized her achievements, including being a five-time champion and a Money in the Bank winner. It also prominently featured Asuka’s impressive 914-day undefeated streak, a record previously held by Goldberg, which is likely to upset him.

Goldberg has spoken about Asuka surpassing his previous record before, and he revisited the topic recently on the ‘Real Talk with Mike Burke’ podcast. When Burke suggested no one would ever break his record, Goldberg quickly pointed out, “They already did.” He clarified that Asuka, a wrestler with WWE, was the one to do it, and added that the decision to have her break the record seemed intentional.

Goldberg clarified he held no personal animosity towards Asuka, referring to her as “the girl.” He explained his overall experience with WWE felt strange, as he’d previously been with WCW during their competitive rivalry. He hadn’t fully understood the situation at the time, just participating on one side. Now that WWE had absorbed WCW, he felt they could treat talent however they pleased. Goldberg believes a part of that feeling stems from his own quick success in WCW, where he became champion and helped them win the Monday Night Wars.

Asuka responded to comments made by Goldberg that were circulating online. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that she wasn’t upset by what he said, noting it was just his opinion and didn’t warrant a strong reaction.

I’ve seen all the news coverage about what Goldberg said, but it doesn’t really bother me. He’s just sharing his opinion, and that’s okay. There’s no need to overreact. Here’s how I see things… It’s not about me…

My focus isn’t on achievements, but on creation. True value lies in vision and philosophy. I need beauty to find meaning in anything. While I’ve broken records and won titles, those are just steps along the way. What truly matters to me is making a lasting impact – defining a moment that marks a clear shift, a before and after. It’s about having the power to change things, to create something beautiful and valuable. I don’t pursue records; they come as a result of my work. Ultimately, there’s simply not enough artistry in the world.

It appeared WWE responded to recent criticism tonight, though they didn’t say Goldberg’s name directly, and viewers noticed the message.
