WWE’s Survivor Series event is almost here, and tonight’s SmackDown was meant to finalize the card, especially the teams for the WarGames matches. The biggest mystery was who the last members of those teams would be, and WWE revealed those details while also cleverly incorporating one of their most intense rivalries into the WarGames match itself. This could now be the highlight of the entire Survivor Series event.
The teams for the Men’s WarGames match are now set, but the Women’s match still had two spots to fill – one on each team. Rhea Ripley announced that AJ Lee would be the final member of her team. However, an attack by the opposing team revealed that Becky Lynch would be joining them, adding fuel to their already intense rivalry and making it a key part of the match.

The teams for the upcoming match are now confirmed. Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley, and AJ Lee will be facing Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, Lash Legend, and Becky Lynch. The rivalry between Becky Lynch and AJ Lee began when Lee made a return to WWE after ten years to support her husband, CM Punk, in his match against Seth Rollins and Lynch. Punk and Lee won at WrestlePalooza, and after a brief absence, Lee returned to WWE, ultimately helping Maxxine Dupri defeat Lynch and win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

This caused old tensions between Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley to flare up again. Even after her loss, Lynch has been very active on social media, but she’s also been watching Ripley closely. Tonight, Lynch took action, attacking Ripley and preventing her from assisting her team when they were suddenly attacked by Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, Iyo Sky, and Asuka.
I’m really excited for the Men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series, it looks like it’s going to be a huge deal. But honestly, the Women’s WarGames match has been the highlight for me the last few years, and with the team they’ve put together this year, I have a feeling they’re going to absolutely steal the show again in 2025!
