Xbox Game Pass regularly adds and removes games, and December 2026 is no different. While PlayStation Plus cycles games in and out monthly, Game Pass generally keeps titles available for a longer period. However, games not published by Microsoft don’t usually stay on the service indefinitely.
As usual, December’s new Xbox Game Pass games will include titles available to play from day one, but these will only be for subscribers with the Ultimate or PC plans. The standard Game Pass plans will still get plenty of games, though. Of the five games announced so far, only one appears to be coming to the basic ‘Essential’ tier, but we should hear about more options soon.

Xbox Starts The Month Strong
We don’t yet know all the games coming to Xbox Game Pass in December, and it looks like there won’t be a lot of new games available to play on the service starting on their release day in the latter half of the month. Generally, December is shaping up to be a quieter month for game releases after a busy start. However, Xbox is likely to announce a few more games soon, even if they aren’t available on Game Pass from day one.

Every Game Leaving Game Pass In December 2025

Xbox Game Pass hasn’t announced which games will be removed in December, but some titles are leaving soon. These games will no longer be available on the service after November 30th:
- Barbie Project Friendship
- Lords Of The Fallen
- Octopath Traveler
- Octopath Traveler 2
- SteamWorld Build
The latest game in the Octopath Traveler series, Octopath Traveler 0, will be released in December, but it won’t be available on Xbox Game Pass when it launches. Currently, Game Pass subscribers won’t have access to this new Octopath title.
Xbox will likely announce which games are leaving Game Pass in December soon. Games often leave mid-month, and those departures are usually announced a few days into the month. Games leaving at the very end of December might not be announced until closer to the date.
