A new Xbox Game Pass game launched earlier this week and has already sold over 300,000 copies – a solid number considering it’s also available to Game Pass subscribers, which usually impacts direct sales. It wasn’t a major, high-profile release, so 300,000 copies in just a few days is likely a good result for the developers. While many are trying out the new game through Game Pass, opinions on its quality are mixed.
The PC game Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, available through Xbox Game Pass, hasn’t become hugely popular. While that can sometimes mean a game is decent, its ratings are mixed. It has a 3 out of 5 star rating on the Microsoft Store and a 75% rating on Steam – neither of which are particularly strong. However, it’s worth keeping in mind there’s more to the story.
What’s Wrong With the New Xbox Game Pass Game
A lot of the negative feedback about the new Xbox Game Pass game focuses on performance issues and bugs, which is understandably frustrating for players. The good news is these problems are fixable, though it might take days, weeks, or even months to resolve them. Surprisingly, many reviewers aren’t talking about the game itself – and those who are seem to be enjoying the content. Unfortunately, there’s no way to know exactly when the bugs and performance will be fixed.
So, if you’re hearing about Quarantine Zone: The Last Check for the first time, it’s a strategy game made by Brigada Games – their first release, actually – and published by Devolver Digital. The good news for PC gamers like me is that it’s included with PC Game Pass, which means we don’t have to shell out twenty bucks to play it!
We don’t know how long Quarantine Zone: The Last Check will stay available on Xbox Game Pass for PC. But while it’s still on the service, subscribers can buy it for 20% off. Currently, there are no plans to release it on Xbox One or Xbox Series X, and it’s not certain if it ever will be.
So, yeah, that’s it! I’d love to hear your thoughts – drop a comment and let me know what you think, or head over to the ComicBook Forum to chat with everyone else!
