Xbox is building excitement for the upcoming release of The Outer Worlds 2 by offering a free digital item to all Xbox users. The game, expected to launch next week on October 29th, is set to be a major release for Xbox in late 2025.
Xbox recently launched a new, animated theme for Xbox Series X and S consoles. It’s based on artwork from the upcoming game, The Outer Worlds 2, and features the game’s iconic character, “Moon Man.” The background isn’t static – you’ll see ships flying across the screen. And the best part? It’s completely free for all Xbox Series X and S owners.
How Do You Get This Xbox Freebie?
You can change the look of your Xbox with dynamic themes found in the settings menu. Go to “Personalization” and then select “My Background.” There, you’ll find a variety of themes, including a new dynamic background from The Outer Worlds 2. Simply choose it to set it as your Xbox dashboard’s background.
Xbox often releases new background themes, usually to celebrate special events. This latest one was launched alongside the release of The Outer Worlds 2. It’s a good idea to regularly check the “My Background” section on your console to discover any new themes Xbox has added that you might have missed.
The highly anticipated game, The Outer Worlds 2, comes out next week on October 29th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Players who buy the Premium Edition will be able to start playing five days early, on October 24th.
