It looks like Stranger Than Heaven is about to return in a big way.
Just a reminder, this is the latest game from the creators of the Yakuza and Like a Dragon series, RGG Studio. It was originally revealed as ‘Project Century’ at The Game Awards in 2024, and we haven’t seen much information about it since then.
So, good news! The game is officially going to be shown off at Xbox’s Partner Preview event later this week, and to get us hyped, the developers at RGG Studio just created official social media pages for it. I’m already following them – can’t wait for more info!
The project’s marketing is starting to ramp up, which likely means ‘Stranger Than Heaven’ will be the company’s next big release.
It all lines up, actually! I recently saw a SEGA report from 2025 that predicted the game would be released sometime between April 2026 and March 2027 – that’s their Fiscal Year 2027, by the way.
We’re excited to see what RGG Studio comes up with next, as the team has faced some criticism lately.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 wasn’t a hit with longtime fans, and a lot of people are now skeptical about the series. We’re hoping the new game, Stranger Than Heaven, will be a strong return to form, similar to how well-received Judgment was.
We’re eager to hear what you think about the next installment of Stranger Than Heaven! Share your hopes and expectations in the comments below.
